It's hard to get too excited about the games these days. I will still watch every one of them though.
It will be interesting to see what they say about Seabs during the game, post and pregame shows.

Have not hear and more defenders called up. Have not heard about the Bovquist shoulder, they said maybe 3 games when he left the last game. Guessing its gonna be sesame street, k's of Keith and Kukoo, Gilbert and Gus, Maata and Murphy.

It would suck for Keith and Gilbert to be stuck with Koekkoek and Gus, respectively.

I'm holing out hope that, given their play when their moms joined them on the road, that they maternal parental units had some choice words to the players on Christmas for the shitshow they call their last game.

expected lineup

Colliton Reveals Lineup For Tonight Against Islanders.

The Chicago Blackhawks return from the holiday break tonight and they'll host the New York Islanders.
No surprise as head coach Jeremy Colliton announced that Robin Lehner will get the start against his former team.
Lehner is looking for a solid start as he's given up three or more goals in four of his last five starts.
He'll likely go up against former teammate Thomas Greiss on the other side of the ice.
The defense will push forward without Brent Seabrook and Calvin de Haan while the forward group will move on without Brandon Saad.
Here's a look at tonight's projected lineup:

Kubalik - Toews - Quenneville
Nylander - Strome - Kane
DeBrincat - Dach - Caggiula
Smith - Kampf - Carpenter
Keith - Murphy
Koekkoek - Gustafsson
Maatta - Gilbert
Lehner

Will someone get those pics of stan and JC away from Nylander already ald get Cat back on that line.

good to see Jewels back, only guessing this is accurate. Should not be long before he gets his legs back and gets put on the "top" line with Toews.

Wow, the lines are even worse than the ones posted above, actually:

Nylander, Carpenter, Kane

Strome, Dach, Debrincat.

Guess JC wanted Toews and Kane on an island. Great strategy.

It's almost like he's trying to get himself launched......or he's pulling lineups out of a hat.

Seems like Gilbert was the catalyst...still a lot of hockey to go, though.

Nice to see the Good Hawks show up - so far - tonight.

CONSISTENCY's what the Hawks need.

Cudos to Gilbert, one of the bright spots on the team this year.

Checking, standing up for teammates, PK, blocking shots and, now, ...ha... goal scorer.
Gilbert should have been on the team from the start of the season.

He is a welcome addition, he has similar traits of Seabs before all his injuries, I wouldn’t say he is as skillful but he has some great intangibles the defence as a whole has been missing for years now.

Yep. There was no need for one of Maata or DeHaan.

I have mentioned it before, Gilbert was hardly on anyones radar to make this lineup, let alone ever be a NHL blackhawk. He might have been mentioned down the line of prospects to 6th or 7th, but when you have guys like Murph, Keith and Seabs, that went to tenth, then Stan paying 8.5 million more for two more it dropped to 12th.

Gilbert was robbed of a star last night. Goal, (they dont ask how, they ask how many) that huge block that got a fist bump and tap on the pads from Lenhar, and having everyone on the islanders more concerned about getting a piece of him than winning the game? If this was the guy down the road that moved a top 4 guy in Joker, then so be it. The future was so bright with hawk d men, too bad stan put blinders on instead of shades and locked up two more til 2022-2023.

Nice to see them play well. Hope they can play well and show improvement but still land a top 3 pick.
