The most stunning film on this subject I've ever seen. A very powerful film. The performances stay with you and the cinematography is most excellent as well.
I love the depth of the characters...none were a cardboard cutout. The relationships between the characters also was displayed on screen with a delicate balance from the slaves perspective. Great work.
I don't think we need another slave film from this perspective for a good while. The film is a landmark for this generation. Wouldn't mind seeing a film on John Horse and the Seminoles though. That would touch on slavery from a different view point.
