12 Years a Slave

The most stunning film on this subject I've ever seen. A very powerful film. The performances stay with you and the cinematography is most excellent as well.

I love the depth of the characters...none were a cardboard cutout. The relationships between the characters also was displayed on screen with a delicate balance from the slaves perspective. Great work.

I don't think we need another slave film from this perspective for a good while. The film is a landmark for this generation. Wouldn't mind seeing a film on John Horse and the Seminoles though. That would touch on slavery from a different view point.

really? I think not. There are way more Holocaust, Civil War, Revolutionary War movies...than Slavery types. I do hope this is the last one from this perspective. Not because of how many but I don't see any touching this one for atleast 20years. There are countless view points that haven't been told & probably will never get done. John Horse & the Seminole Army is the one I'd like to see more than anything....never seen anything like that on film or from that perspective.
