It looks good, based on a real story but I might get the book first since movies tend to change things.
Wouldn't mind seeing it but I probably will wait for it to come out on video. The wife won't see movies like this (too depressing) and my 16 year old wouldn't go to the theatre for a movie like this, even though he probalby should. At home he can watch it with me.
Maybe because she didn't finance it? As for the movie, I hear only amazing things about it and plan to see it.Not sure why Oprah was excluded from this movie.
Me too. It's amazing how the general interest level in history is waning in this country. It's an important topic that needs visibilityMaybe because she didn't finance it? As for the movie, I hear only amazing things about it and plan to see it.

People today think of life now as being ever changing and exciting but who lived a more exciting life than Francis Drake. Admiral that saved England, hated by millions of Spaniards, fugitive that was hunted all over the world, Pirate, explorer, rich, consoler to the Queen, most loved man in England.Agreed.... kinda scary how people call history "boring" or "Its just memorizing a bunch of facts" or "Who cares, the past is in the past"
Most people in my generation or younger only care about WWII or any other historical topic that reminds them of fucking Call of Duty.... there is so much interesting stuff in history.... so many lessons to learn and so many people who repeat mistakes made in the past.

Might be a little more exciting than riding the Metra downtown every day and watching Cutler laid out on the field on Sundays
