Curious to know how teams have the jersey with their choice all ready to go. Do they have just one jersey with velcro and a bunch of names ready to attach or do they actually have different jerseys ready depending on their big board. If so I want the Adam's jersey.

im pretty sure they've shown on tv. They have all the teams ready and iron on the names quickly as they are picked.

Also the pick is actually known backstage several minutes before it is actually announced. This gives them plenty of time to have the jersey ready to go. A few years ago ESPN got in trouble with the NFL because the reporters we tweeting out picks 15 min before they were announced. It really spoiled the tv experience.

They have ~10,000 jerseys premade for the 300 or so potential draftees - each player on every jersey. So any pick that happens has a premade jersey waiting. The rest go to El Salvador, Addis Ababa, and New Orleans.

Nike has a machine in the back that puts the name on the jersey in something like 15 seconds. So they just have the team blank for the pick and they put the name on it as the guy is coming down.

Its a heat press that Nike has in the back. They have a few blank jerseys for each team and the name plates ready to go. They get the info a few mins before the announcements. Below is a cool link from a couple years ago:

Speaking of jerseys, I wish they had a trade in program. I have a Grossman jersey & a Cutler jersey hanging in my closet that I'll never wear outside the house. Feels like I'm in El Salvador or Addis Ababa when it comes to Bears' jerseys.

Same reason I don't buy jerseys anymore, have about 10 bears jerseys for players no longer with the team. Now I just buy bears logo t shirts, sweaters and pullovers.

You could always get a jersey with the #85 on it and the name Meatball on the back!! =)

My family named me the jersey jinx, because every time I got a jersey the player either sucked, got injured, or was traded. I have a closet full of old jerseys never to be worn again. After Grossman I swore to only buy retired players.

Contact Rex and Jay, see if they want to buy a game worn jersey signed by their fan.

Good idea. I've actually worn these while watching Bears' games, even spilled a little beer on them. Talk about authenticity...
