What a shit show. It's time to sell, but I have 0 faith Standork will get any value.
A single game (emphasis there) won't hurt Boqvist and after this game it might instill a sense of accountability. Why? I mean let Boqvist play and learn....it makes no difference now. Lehner will probably be dumped anyway. Crawford doesn't want to move and he can block a trade, I mean one of them has to go.....resign Crow at a doable number for a year or two while you look for a young goalie.
You're right on Lehner. We're talking at .895 for Crawford's .922 since the all-star break with Crawford getting 5 starts to Lehner's 4.This was an important stretch of games, Lehner needed to step up. He's the biggest talk the talker in postgames too in regards to his contract and what not.
He gone!
I don't have the subject-matter expertise of some other posters here, nor do I get to watch as many of the games, but from what I have seen I am utterly underwhelmed with Boqvist.
Blah, blah, blah, young Dmen need time to develop, look at #2, blah, blah. I'm seeing a one-dimensional player only. He does NOT look like an impact player to my eye today nor in the future. Minor whiff.
He was atrocious last night. Before anyone interprets this as me blaming the loss on him alone, I'm certainly not, but the fact still stands: he was awful. Two goals, his guy simply skated around him; the last goal, he completely lost his man in front of Lehner. I'm starting the worry that the kid's confidence is shaken -- it's early, he's a rookie, I get it, but nevertheless. It's not the time to give up on him, but I hope the kid can find his game sooner than later, because he obviously doesn't have it yet.
Maybe with a competent coaching staff the kids would be able to learn something. I don’t put any blame on Adam, he is just a kid learning the ropes. He certainly has had some poor showings of late, but he will learn and that starts with coaching, help him pinpoint his mistakes, work with him. The kid has a nice shot, good speed and vision and could be a decent defender for the team if coached and taught properly.Well, I saw a couple plays from him where he cut off that hairy dude and did not let him get around him. If that were seabrook he would have been three steps behind.
Really dont know why we need to worry about any of these guys, they will get their sixth 4 million dollar guy for next year and there is no place for any of these prospects to play anyhow.
Not saying that they might not decide to dress 7 d men and let Bovquist play forward, but he at least has some speed that the rest sorely are missing.
Figure Joker, Bovquist, Beaudin, Mitchell, Gilbert, they should be able to get one to play D.
