CUT

- Massie
- Cutler
- Porter

Re-Sign

- Hoyer
- Jeffery

Free Agency

Eric Berry - Hybrid Safety -- Berry is one of the top safeties in the NFL. He has the rare ability to be an elite in the box safety as well as the single high safety.

A J Bouye - Corner Back -- Bouye has really come into his own this season. He has shown that he can match up with the opposing teams #1 WR and take him out of the game.

Terrell Pryor - Wide Reciever -- Very gifted WR with a lot to prove.

Draft

Trade #3 to NY Jets for #6 and #39

1st round (6) - Malik Hooker FS-- MH is the best FS prospect in the past 15 years. What's scary is that he will only get much better as he gains experience at the position.

2nd round (36) - Malik McDowell IDL -- I've already talked about McDowell. He's a dominant force on the defensive line. He can easily add a lot more weight to that huge frame. He purposely lost weight before the season to to able to move all over the DL due to lack of depth. He is a top 5 talent in this draft, but will drop because he seemed to take some plays off this season.

2nd round (39) - Carl Lawson EDGE -- Not much is being said about Lawson, but make no mistake, he is on the level of Myles Garrett as far as pash rushing ability. His stock has dropped due to injury history.
-In this game tape, you can see his extraordinary first step explosion at 2:52. -
-Then at 3:56, he showcases how he can immediately shed blocks at the point of attack. -
-At 5:21, he completely makes the tackle miss.
-He showcases his closing speed at 8:33

3rd Round (66) - Davis Webb -- i Will have an in depth evaluation once i finish watching all the tape. From what I read, he's very eager to show that he's the real deal.

4th Round (100) - Brad Kaaya -- I already posted an evaluation on him.

4th Round (106) - Joe Mixon RB -- Built like a tank with elite speed, lateral movement/agility, and pass catching ability. He's the best dual back prospect in the past several years. Arguably the most talented RB in this class. He will immediately make the Bears backfield #1 in the league.

There's some good ideas here. Obviously, the Bears would sign more than 3 guys in free agency with more than 70 million to spend...but that only really helps your cause because you can still add more talent. I personally would go after Tony Jefferson instead of Berry because he's younger, will be cheaper, and has less of an injury history. Especially if you're going to draft Hooker, I think it makes more sense. Although, I certainly would be happy with Berry as he is the better overall player but is 3 years older than Jefferson.

I'm not a big fan of drafting 2 QBs this draft. Especially back to back. I think due to the depth of CB and TE, you need to draft those positions at some point. When you're drafting a QB that late, you're basically assuming them to be backups. I just don't see the point of drafting 2 of them when your plan is for Hoyer to start anyway. Let Hoyer, the rookie, and Barkley all compete in this scenario.

I'd also be very surprised if Pace signed both Alshon and Pryor. I don't hate the idea...but I just don't think it's very realistic. Pace is high on Meredith and I'm sure he still hasn't given up on White either. He also doesn't strike me as a guy who would lock up that much money on the WR position....for 2 guys.

Overall, there's some good ideas. I like going after Bouye and Berry (or Jefferson). Either way, signing some horses in the secondary should be priority number one in free agency. I like adding another pass rusher in round 2 but I'm just not sure of the prospects. I don't think Pace will draft 3 defensive guys in a row either. He should be able to get a good TE/WR/OT with one of those 2nd round picks.

Its almost like you made this for me!!

We are so in line with what is best for the bears its scary. A couple things.

I think you have to trade up to 55-62 for Webb. And Its Kaaya at 69, maybe even 62-65, or just at our pick 69 but certainly not in 4th round. He won't be there.

Those are my two targets, as well as Russell in the 4th, Mayfield in the 6th....I think all of those are good value for those QB's.

My non-interest in players like Watson/Mahomme, is not me saying they won't succeed. Or Trubs. (Kizer is a classic bust for me, I don't like that he got fat in college when he should have got yoked and more athletic from his freshman year).

I just think they are projected to far above my risk value. I'd love Watson at 55, but he won't fall below 34. Likely to go 30.

Not sure why you are cutting Massie and then not replacing him. Seems pretty silly particularly when Long looked terrible at RT and when one injury and your OL is fucked.

Cutting Porter is not the brightest idea since he is our best CB right now. Long to tackle? How long have you been a Bears fan?

 1. Chicago Bears
 1. Nebraska Cornhuskers

How many times do I have to post the same thing: trade for Garrapolo to be our passing QB, trade for McCarron to be our hand off QB, and then draft Mahomes to be our QB sneak specialist.

Too many of you are overthinking things.

Why would the Jets trade up?

Every offseason looks better when you add a bunch of premium picks that the Bears won't have.

Good plan, wrong players.

Trade for Drew Brees as passing QB, Eli Manning as our hand off QB and then draft receiving weapons to be our "actually catch the ball" specialists.

It has already been said, but Massie will be here in 2017. He got better as the year went along and I think will be a good RT next season.

Actually, the Bears tackles are pretty bad. The reason they seemed like they were improving is because 90% of Hoyer's passes traveled 4 yards and Barkley had no problem lobbing the ball up for grabs in the face of pressure.

It was only one pick and I justified it because it was a bargain for the Jets according to the draft value chart.

Who are they moving up for?

The Browns could offer the Bears the 1st pick for their 3rd and 36, which is an insane value, and I do not want to do it.

I disagree I think they looked bad because the unit got shuffled a bunch and was throwing the ball too much early. As soon as they started pounding the rock with Howard and the Defenses had to be honest about the running game Massie looked much better in coverage. He even had some good games against some pretty damn good pass rushers if my memory serves me.

The Jets could be looking to get their QB. That is the only reason I see them moving up. If Pace is going QB in the second (Doesn't see his guy as Kizer Trubisky or Watson) and is willing to slide a few spots knowing there will still be premiums players there I think it would be smart to get the extra second from them.

Valid points. There really are no viable TE's in free agency. I was looking for a way to somehow draft Njoku.

The Jets won't trade to #3, and if they did you are selling the Bears short. The Jets would need to give the Bears their 1st, 2nd and a 4th rd pick to move up to #3.
