"When (former general manager) Dale Tallon called me, this is what we had in mind," Madden said. "I know it sounds far-fetched, but we talked for a g ood 5-10 minutes about what my role was and what I would bring to the team. This is what we had in mind the whole time, so I have to thank Dale for that along with Stan Bowman and Rocky Wirtz."

Bowman replaced Tallon as GM 13 days after Madden was signed.

the people at IHN have no idea the large impact they have had. From the booing of McDick at the convention, to the sign and the postings in the papers, you have made it very difficult for McD and the Bowmans to erase DT from this team.



BTW, he is on the NHL hour tonight. They are asking people to submit their questions to him for the show.

My only two regrets were Tallon not being on the ice with his team after the win, and not hearing Foley make the call on Kaner's Stanley Cup winning goal.

Tallon was on Gary Bettman's radio show on XM tonight and sounded great.

Handled it well and with a lot of class. A true gentleman of the game.

The Hawks getting to the finals certainly gave Tallon ample ammunition to get another GM job,
