Im always thinking about this unbelievable series. What Rose did as a rookie was amazing. There were stretches where everyone from Miller to Gordon to Thomas to Rose to Noah all had huge plays. If only it would have never ended.

I know its ancient history by now but i think we need a thread showing some love to this amazing 7 game series. I wish i could get all of the games on DVD.

Great series. We would've advanced to the next round if the refs called the flagrant on Rondouche

Or the Celtics were the better team. Stop being a homer.

besides game 3 and 7, that series was a crapshoot. the games were so close, and the talent was so similiar, that it'd be Special person to say that the celtics won for the reason that they had superior talent rather than attribute it to luck, gods, or fortune.

The Celtics were a superior team dude...luck my ass. The Celtics were better at damn near every position...you should know that...

The core of that team won the title the year before. The Bulls didn't even make the playoffs...

they were missing kg. kendrick perkins, davis, and scalabrine were their big men. if perkins got into foul trouble, they'd suck up front.

if we had a different coach, we'd win that series.

The only reason the Bulls would have won that series is because the Celtics played poorly, not because they were equal in talent. If the Celtics had played that poorly, yes another coach would have won the series. But they were not equal in talent. At what positions would you have given the Bulls the advantage? Virtually every position was advantage Celtics...so I don't quite understand. There was a lot of bad basketball in that series...the Celtics were a better team than they showed in that series.

the bulls had better depth. the bulls team of rose and gordon and hinrich had the best backcourt that year. our front court court. so did theirs. scalabrine was their third bigman. it was a pretty good match up for us. If we had a coach who knew how to get thigns done, we ought to have won that series. for the most part we were just a 1 or 2 bad possessions from winning those games, so was boston

it wasn't like their stars were absolutely killing us. ray allen sucked in game 1. he was amazing in game 2. he hit some clutch shots, but he wasn't a thousand times better than gordon and hinrich and salmons. Paul pierce was better than salmons, but salmons kept the matchup within bounds. tim thomas sucked..

pg and center.

rose + hinrich > rondo + marbury/house

miller and noah were better than perkins and no one.

Hou we all know that the Celtics were the better team, but you can't just simply dismiss what the Bulls did by saying the Celtics just played bad. That's completely disguising the truth. They didn't play sloppy basketball every game. There were bad plays on either side to be sure, but those games were more drag out fights, then sloppy oil wrestling. There was a big lack of D for the most part on both sides, not having KG, was the reason for the C's diminished D, but they were by no means gifting possessions to the Bulls. They shot less than 40% from the field in only 1 game, only 2 under 45%. Over 15 TO's just once. This series was not that ugly.

You seem to have this intense fear of being considered a "homer" that you seem to overly attempt to minimize any Bulls success, no matter how slight. It was a great, fun, entertaining series, can't we just leave it at that?

Who the hell is "we all"? The person I am talking to said that they were equally talented and the Celtics were lucky...that is b.s. The Celtics were better...point blank. The Celtics played at a higher level as a team against Orlando than they did against the Bulls. I don't think that Bulls team could have taken that Magic team 7 games like that.

You tell me I have a fear of being a homer, and that is where you are very wrong. Your sports psychoanalysis is way off. I have no fear of being a homer...I analyze the games and the teams impartially. The series was not "that" ugly doesn't sound too affirmative on your part. That wasn't the first time they did that...even with Garnett. I didn't say the series wasn't competitive, I didn't even say that it wasn't a great series. I am saying the Celtics didn't play to full capabilities, and the Bulls didn't win that series because they weren't good enough, not because the Celtics were lucky. I really don't understand the problem with that statement. I root for the team, they are not my heroes. I have no problem looking at the team realistically...I am not the one who is afraid here...
