Congrats to Keith.

Nothing says NHL like Snoop Dogg as the opening act at the awards show. I can see Snoop admonishing Bettman for Bogarting a doobie backstage. "Yo Gary, pass that mother ******".
Snoop is ACTUALLY a huge Hockey fan.

Congrats to Keith. Well deserved and easily the best defenseman in the league this year, considering he scored only 14 of his 69 pts with the man advantage. And it's strange the Vegas odds were on Doughty to win it. He'll win it before Mike Green, that's for sure.

I am so glad Dunc got the nod. I have a feeling Doughty will be back and will win but Dunc really deserved it and had a career year and really lead the really solid Hawk D this year. Congrats Dunc well deserved!

okay...how the **** did Doughty get less points than Mike Green? I'm happy and all Keith won it (obviously), but Doughty should have been 2nd by a longshot. It's like the voters never watched hockey (except for those who voted Keith ;)) and insead wanted a taste of Green's hemorrhoids.

People are infatuated with points, but thankfully Keith showed a far better all around game than Green and still amassing a great point total. Doughty will win his Norris, as early as next year if he keeps it up. Green is more of a 4th forward than a defenseman.

I know pmxc will be here to quibble with me again ( :D ) but I can't stand the fact that Green was nominated. The playoffs showed once again just how lousy a DEFENCEman Green is. He was terrible against the Habs and a large part of the reason the Caps lost. But apparently folks are so infatuated with numbers that it doesn't matter.

Doughty, as young as he is, is so much better all around than Green. I guess it was the dreaded "East Coast bias" talking, along with Doughty's youth. That's a guess, though.

They make the announcement that the Norris Trophy is coming and they are queing off

to a commercial break. Did any of you notice as the panned the crowd that the Geico caveman guy was standing at the control board/ DJ area? I thought for sure Green was going to win it with seeing him there.
Agreed! I'd have liked LESS bullshit and more Hockey players. Except Datsuck who still can't speak English.

This show sucked for the most part. Who the **** congratulated the Stanley Cup winners?

They gave them 20 seconds with the Cup. Dave hands down agreed! Snoop rap, really?
I was so pissed when they cut him off I was afraid to come on here and post. WTF?? Plenty of time for the music and then they cut off Kieth. About 15 seconds after he started talking they played music above him and even he seemed like "what the ****?"

Shitty ass planning.

They should allow time for all the players to talk and maybe show highlights of each after they get their award.

I didn't watch the fucking show to see bands play !!!!!!!!!!

Yeah I get it Doughty is good, great even. But what's to stop Keith from winning it for years, or both of them trading hounours? Why is it just ASSumed the Norris is Doughty's for years to come?

Hear, hear.

Not only is Keith not going away, it's not like Chara, Pronger, Markov and others are going to stop playing. Heck, even Lidstrom might score 60-65 points again next year if the Wings are healthier. And what about Tyler Myers, who was incredibly impressive? He's only going to get better. Then there's Shea Weber, Erik Johnson and Victor Hedman.

Doughty is going to be an elite defenseman for the foreseeable future, but there's plenty of competition.
