Seems we open the season with Dallas!

First, the Stars will host the Hawks on Oct. 7 at American Airlines Center and then the Hawks will open their home schedule the next night when the teams will face off at the United Center.

Schedule is out.

Road trip planning to begin.

There's a Saturday game in St. Louis! Yes!

December 3rd.

Also Nashville on Saturday, Jan 21st.

And a fucking 9 game road trip in February. Brutal.

And 13 back to backs this year.

I was really hoping for that even though it wasn't likely, oh well. I'll still be making a few trips up there anyway and I'll be there when they play there in 2012-2013

Each of the 5 other original 6 teams will be making a visit to Chicago this year. Pretty cool.

i was going to likely be in St Louis during Veterans Day weekend like I usually am... IF only the Hawks were to be in town two days later I would have been a happy camper.... Damnit.

Anyway... love the fact my birthday is on the same day as the Hawks/Queens game. Looking forward to that. Hopefully I can go back to LA for it, but we'll see.

Also loving the return to Anaheim for my annual Thanksgiving Classic as the Friday at 1pm game out there.

I'm sure the Hawks will hate it, but I'm loving the schedule this year....

Habs and Leafs in Chicago this year.

No Penguins so Crosby's pussy ass doesn't play here yet another year. 3rd largest NHL market why would they want Crosby here.

The December St. Louis trip is ON. Back to back Fri/Sat and then again here on Monday.

DROP THE FUCKING PUCK!

And February looks no more inviting... I saw an 8 game road trip in there (WORSE than the Circus Trip, which takes us to the usual 6 places) that takes us TO Western Canada, then Colorado, San Jose, Phoenix, Nashville and New York.... oh and Columbus after that if anyone cares.... And I think a week later, the Hawks go back out to LA and Anaheim...

To make matters worse, I don't see very much more than 5 game homestands....

They really fucked with us this year.

For you early afternoon fans (I know none of you are), I'm examining the entire schedule and here's what I've seen...

1 11:30AM game (Jan 14 @ Detroit)

1 1PM game (Feb 18 @ Columbus)

1 2PM game (Feb 19 vs. St Louis)

4 3PM games

Lovely.

Yep. My Self-proclaimed "Thanksgiving Classic" in Anaheim always is early on a Friday... and the Hawks are in it once again.

The rest are all weekends. From what I gather, I am assuming some of them are promotional events by the clubs hosting the games or that NBC is going to televise them. A majority of the games are past January 1st, so one would assume that NBC will be televising a bunch of them.

My thoughts:

1) 4 Saturday games in October will be fun. (also good business from the broker side too with games those days)

2) We get crappy Columbus 2 years in a row now as the first game after x-mas. This is the marquee game of the season and they stick us with that. At least we have the Habs preceding it and the Wings on 12/30

3) Another brutal road trip in february

4) The Hawks go almost 4 weeks with no home games. So from 1/25 through 2/18 they are away. Wow!

5) Season is ending a week earlier next April which is nice. And we don't have the 2 final games of the year against Detroit again thankfully.
