we need to focus on left field and juan pierre at this point. look we arent going to have a full lineup that is just amazing. no team does, not even the yankees. so imo the leadoff spot sucks right now, and jps defense is horrible.

Low batting average isn't really a factor anymore. Hell, batting average isn't really a factor anymore unless you're using a sample size like "he's batting .450 in the last 5 games" or something. OBP is the new batting average for say.

BA is ehh compared to OBP. Sure a REAL low BA with a High OBP means the only time the player is driving in runs is when the bases are loaded and the player walks....but .264 career is fine when he has that OBP. He also would be able to move CQ to LF and we would have a huge upgrade on the defensive side in RF.

Fukudummy is 34 while Gardner is 27.

And is a hell of alot cheaper.

We need more youth on this team not another 34 year old guy who really isn't that good.

gardner isnt an untouchable piece for the yanks. they want pitching.

.271 BA .359 OBP 12 HRs for his career since 2008. This isnt a guy that you trade the farm for, or cashman asking for a bundle for him would be doubtful. 14/24 is SBs this year (not good enough) 47 SBs was his career high. so again, he isnt worth a SP plus a bunch of specs. For someone with his speed for him to only have 20 Doubles last year is Special person.
