you cant fix this team in one offseason you are ridiculous if you expected him to go all Jim Henry and sign all the old free agents so we can contend for 3 years and then suck for the next 10.

I would rather suck for the next 3 and have a good system than contend and have a good team for the next 10-20 years and be a great team year in and year out because we have good talent in the system and can get better without having to spend 200m a year on pay roll.

We will spend when it is warranted but honestly we had no bushiness even talking to Pujols and Fielder we are just 2 far away.


your just asking for 2 much I would hope we spend our resources right now on things like the DR facility and improving ways to get talented young guys. The DR facility will be huge IMO. Solder and Cepedes may very well be Cubs they make sense for us because they will be in their prime after the rebuilding is done and they wont cost as much. Much smarter IMO than giving Pujols 10yrs 250m.

Also getting a system to help scouting will help in that department I kind of wonder why Henry never developed a system like what they are bringing in. I think the game changed and Henry didnt and because of that we are stuck in a terrible hole.


Ricketts spent 15m to keep Z away saying he wont spend is ridiculous it is also rumored he is willing to eat 40m of Fonzies deal I think you are just being ridiculous. Now if we had the Reds roster or another fringe playoff team roster and he wouldnt go out and get a guy to put us over the top I could understand your logic but spending on a big ticket guy right now would be like burning money we suck no need to get old guys who wont be in their prime when we are good again.

I got free tickets last year(one of the perks when your sis's college is in Chicago).

But yes I will go to a few games this year and maybe even may for a few. I have been asking for a rebulid for awhile. The way Jim Henry built this team was ridiculous and you cant be insane and do the same thing as Jim Henry and just spend away on aging vets and expect to win a WS.

How the **** are you gonna say I am getting nothing fo it? If I enjoy the game and see players who actually play hard and play to their potential that is worth paying for. Instead of watching under achieving players who don't care about winning.

for example Alou and Ramiez already booked tickets for the DR before the playoffs were over. That is not the kind of people I want on my team I want people who want to win.

The Cubs in the past few years have not be worth going to watch they have been selfish bastards who dont give 100% and yes I am even talking about the playoff years. There is a reason we didn't win a playoff game in 08 and with that team.. The team didn't play hard and they didn't care I will take getting Z off the team as a good start and hopefully getting a few impact players this year in Jackson and Rizzo to come up mid season. We are miles away from good adding Pujols and another guy and we wouldn't of been a playoff team this year and certainly not a contender. The team is so far away spending big would of been highly counterproductive in the goal to win a WS and to be a winning franchise for a long time year in and year out.
