Then why (does OKC) have one of the worst defenses in the league?

This is idiotic. The Thunder do not have one of the worst defenses in the league (they are above 15th/30). And LOL at you for believing that they did yet STILL wanting to give the DPOY award to Serge Ibaka.

I don't count the non playoff teams. If they were THAT bad they wouldn't have the second best record in the league.Nuff said. So among the good teams they have the worst defense in the league.

Yes Ibaka is a league on his own this year in D. He reminds me of Dikembe Mutombo smh.

If he doesn't get the award Lebron will get it. Howard is the best defender in the league. But this year there are players better than him in D.

What the hell are you talking about? The Thunder have the 2nd best record in the league because they have the best offense in the league. It isn't because they have great team defense because they don't. They are 11th in defense.

HAHA! Remember yesterday when Boozer backed down Ibaka easily in the post and scored on him? He could never dream of doing that to Dwight Howard or Dikembe Mutombo.

This is untrue and you will be proven wrong. It is also a contradictory statement which doesn't make sense.

Which one of these doesn't belong? I'm not sure if you can tell the difference.

Yes It's funny because Ibaka had 5 blocks yesterday and Boozer had an 8 point 50% game while he had three of his best games this season against Dwight.

2012-03-08 with 26 points 60% 7 rebounds
2012-03-19 with 24 points 67% 13 rebounds
2012-01-06 with 20 points 48% 13 rebounds - 5 offensive

It is not Howard's defensive responsibility when jump-shooters so happen to get hot. Glen Davis and Ryan Anderson were the ones assigned to Boozer.

What part of "Dwight Howard IS the best defender in the league but this year there are 3-4 players who perform better" you don't understand? You react like I said he is a bad defender or sth.

You put him on the all-second defensive team... and said Ibaka has been "on a different level" this year... that is my beef. I understand this is a prediction thread... but still...

What I would like to know is how many shots do guys like Howard and Ibaka really alternate per game?

I just think that blocks are a little overhyped. The ball usually gets out of bounds and the other team has another chance to score. I would count a steal as more valuable than a block because you gain possesion! Therefore I wonder why there are never guards in that conversation.

So it must be a huge number of shots which those big men alternate. Also defensive rebounds should help them to win this category!

IMO in the NBA there are many players doing their job well. So if someone has performed better a year he must take the award. For Howard being in the all defensive first team means nothing anymore. I don't understand why because he is a beast he should be a lock every year. There are players who deserve it too once. So as soon as they have a better defensive season why not?

Sometimes you think about championships.. Oh Malone was a great player but he never won a championship. But this is a championship. If you are unlucky to play in the era Jordan was playing that can happen. But for awards and 1st all nba teams? It should be another player every year. The very best will have multiple awards of course. Howard will end his career with 10 DPOY awards if you give him the award even when there are better performers in a year. Hakeem won that award 2 times. Do you believe that Howard is so much better than Hakeem?

Ibaka performed a triple double with blocks this year. He has done 3 10 blocks games and this guy averages 3.5 blocks per game. This is fucking crazy. When Howard had seasons like this he was hands down the DPOY. LeBron deserves a DPOY award too. He has a better defending season than Howard too this year. Iggy deserves it too this season.!

I used to believe the same thing with you about blocks. But when you block some shoots in a game you can ruin a player's or a team's confidence. You tell him/them NOT today. Find other ways to score :D

He won't be the same for the rest of the game.
