All-star games are boring. I'd rather watch the skills competition anymore, and that's a yawner. And enough with letting fans pick anything.

I'd rather they cancel the entire weekend and give all the players the time off.

It's a live event for the kids and famillies and for fans to get autographs and spend $$$. That's never going to happen Maiden. If they did scrap the all-star game then it would be best just to continue with the season anyways and that way the playoffs could start a week earlier.

It's boring as hell as a televised event but for a weekend event in the city it's held in it's pretty fun and brings a lot of revenue. I think the USA television ratings were a 1.0 lol. Which isn't very good at all but about what I would think was expected. Canadian ratings were about a 1.35 million which also isn't very good. Even Canadians don't watch the All-Star game on television anymore.

Something has to be done to make it more appealing to television viewers because as a live event it's not going away. Live lottery draws usually work. Maybe more of those would help? It's a cheap way out but it always works. The game itself will always be boring and useless so it just needs some funner production hands on it to make it television worthy.

At least it's not the Pro Bowl.

I liked Milbury's idea (I know I had to shower after saying that) of having a 3 on 3 tournament. 6 teams of 3 in a first to 2 goals format.

They could even have a live draft for that.

Wow Milbury had an idea that actually is appealing? Not a bad idea. Would still be non physical passionless hockey though..and that's the problem with the televised portion. It just doesn't translate well to television.... the slow pace and no contact. They even try to bring in celebrities to inhance it..that doesn't work either because the celebrities are boring also and I don't think hockey fans watching at home really care about that shit anyways.

If the hockey is going to be slow and boring I would just as much rather watch an old timers legend game. At least that brings some prestige and throw back to the game. It would work on television also. **** mix up the rosters with some old timers and have fun. Would love to see something like Wayner skate with Kane for a shift. Or Larinov skate with Ovechkin. That sort of shit people tend to like seeing.
