I'm a die hard Sox fan...I sure hope not. That would cut me deep.

I hope not either. Just once I'd like to see a Chicago team build a dynasty and keep it going. All they seem to do is just disappoint us.

Those of you expecting Francona can forget it.

This regime will NEVER pay big money to a big name manager.

Expect a Buddy Bell, Sandy Alomar Jr, or Dave Martinez type of hiring.

Forget Tony LaRussa too....rumors coming out are saying that he doesn't want to work with KW.

IDC if we don't get LaRussa but, God damn do I want KW fired too...he's going to be the lame-duck GM for the next few years just like Hendry was for the Cubs the last few.

I've been preaching this exact same thing on these boards for all Chicago teams....especially the Bears.

whats he been up to recently? has he managed before at any level at all?

Neither did your previous manager to my recollection (could be wrong)

He just seems like the right fit.. Former Sox player.. Probably not gonna be expensive (if JR goes the cheap route.. as a lot of you are speculating)

Seems like the right guy.

Tony LaRussa said he won't manage the Sox with Kenny as GM.

Sources are saying that Buddy Bell wants no part of managing.

So you have Sandy Alomar Jr, Dave Martinez, and Terry Francona is the darkhorse according to sources.

I think it's going to be Alomar or Martinez. This organization has proven time and again that they don't hire big-name, big-money managers.

I posted this in another thread But for the record , if it was going to be either Ozzie or KW in a "one or the other" scenario, the Sox screwed the pooch by getting rid of the wrong guy.

KW made this mess and he should have been the one to pay for it. Instead he looked like the little *****...hiding behind Reinsdorf and letting Ozzie take the fall.

This is the "long goodbye" for KW just as it was with Hendry for the Cubs the last few years.

This is nut up or shut up time for KW. He fails again and he's gone....IDK if any credible manager will want to take a job with this team knowing we have a lame-duck GM.

KW is going to fail as GM...again. He has lost whatever mojo he had going earlier in his career. And a few years from now, whoever he hired as the new manager will be going down with him.
