Surprised that none of you have jumped at the chance to point out the my guy Bolland is in the middle of what's probably his worst season in the NHL.

I feel like they are asking him to play a role that he isn't made for. Bolland has been one of the best 3rd line centers in the league and putting him at 2nd line center just hasn't let him focus on the role that he does best. He is a shut down center, and a pretty damn good one. Bolland just isn't offensively gifted enough for a 2c position.

Have to feel that the play of Shaw and Kruger make Bolland expandable this summer (especially with the cap dropping and Bolland costing $2m+ more than those two). I would be surprised if Bolland is on the team past draft day, at this point.

His trade value is hurting big time right now, though.

I was real excited to see what he could do in a more offensive role with Sharp and Kane on his wings. Kane is having the best season of his still-young career, and the fact that Kane is doing that with a center and a winger (when healthy) who were playing so poorly should speak volumes about how good 88 has been this year.

I would love to see Bolland back at the 3C, as you said, but then it re-opens that ever present hole at the 2C. So pick your poison, I assume. Er, as much as poison as the Hawks are possible of generating this year.

Fail to see how trading our 2C for a right winger solves anything.

Agreed.

I don't know what Bolland's issue is but we all saw how poor Leddy played last year compared to this year. Besides maturation, a big reason why was because Leddy was playing out of position and they were just leaning on him too much. For Leddy, it is only a matter of time until he is ready. However, for Bolland he may never be ready for 2c and I really believe he will/can return to form if he is put back in that 3c position right now. The only issue there is that the 3rd line is really one line that the Blackhawks probably don't want to break up right now.

I gave Carcillo a chance. But wow, what a waste of a 2 yr extension.

When garbage like Bollig is playing over you...

Carcillo is, more or less, injured. Had his knee drained a little over a week ago (from his most recent knee injury) and his conditioning has supposedly been a factor (which I think has showed up when he did play after the injury).

Doesnt matter. He isn't good. healthy or not. Even when he is healthy he isnt very good...especially line one worthy.

When healthy, he is absolutely good enough to play over Bollig (which is what my original post was in reply to) and Mayers. However, he simply just isn't healthy. Pretty much he was healthy for a half of a game in the season opener and has struggled since then. He played on line one last year and opened up there this year for a reason, right now it doesn't make sense to put him up there though (atleast when the team is healthy) but he is a decent enough player when healthy to atleast crack the lineup.

Sure as a 4th liner when healthy I would agree. The line 1 experiment was overall not a perm solution as it had shot term positives but going for a cup a player like carcillo (healthy) should never sniff line 1. Thats really all I am saying about him. If he is on a 4th line it is fine I guess.

They're all trash. Four losses is unacceptable. Just move the team to Kansas City.
