Makes sense. He must feel that ATL is prime for taking the NL this year.

Philly is signing Wheeler for just shy of $120 mil. That seems crazy to me. Like Wheeler isn't terrible but I think giving him $100 mil is gonna look really bad in a couple years.

They are going on potential. Teams think he has more meat on the bones.

I mean I get the logic I just don't agree with it. They are paying him as though he's proven to be the guy rather than paying him hoping he has more in him. Just strikes me as a desperation move because they obviously needed pitching. He has a long injury track record for one and strikes me as someone who could very easily just have had a good 2nd half that you talk yourself into being more there.
