Confidence points are used to give different weight to each of the games during a given week. You'll assign a point value to each game based on how strongly you feel about the accuracy of your pick. If your selection is correct, you'll receive points equal to the confidence point value you associated with that game. Y

That has been my experience as well. Week 1 is always tough. So many new faces in new places. OAK/DEN and TB/SF - like what in the actual ****. I have no idea.

Yes, they matter a lot.
Doesn't matter if you get all 16 right, the person with the most confidence points wins.
EDIT: So the game you're most confident in, pick 16. Least confident in, pick 1... and then everything in between.
