yeah, now lets fucking wait til Friday for another game....... I thought they were going to be playing catch up for the week off after Prague.

At least that was all I have to complain about.

So this is what a physical Hawks team looks like.

Been a while since there was a "physical" Hawks team. Refreshing.

2020 they might be close to that for a year.
I call bullshit, they defended themselves at least, after 2 years of not.

They have to be physical enough to protect themselves and play the game the right way.

Encouraging game, but I'm not ready to extrapolate just yet 'cause last night was the Oil's 4th consecutive road game within the past 7 days. McJesus and friends may have been gassed.

I thought McBieber took too many liberties crashing Crawford last night, including on the disallowed goal. It was great to see on at least one of those occasions, Murphy destroyed him before he could get there.

Also nice seeing Shaw make up for his one-dumb-penalty-a-game quota with drawing a call of his own after destroying Persson. I was hesitant about bringing in yet another retread on this team, but I've been extremely happy with Shaw in this small sample size. He and Saad looked possessed out there.

It's was nice to see more of a net front presence last night. Shaw was always great in that department (by far our best net-front presence even before he was traded) and Strome was also utilized in front on the PP.

Crow wasn't really tested all that much last night in my view, but I'm glad he's getting the start next game.

The main difference last night was that the forwards were actually supporting the D and the Hawks were winning puck battles.

Well, assuming this game isn't a one-off and the team finally got it's head and ass wired together, games-in-hand aren't necessarily a bad thing...as long as they can capitalize. Not holding my breath though. We're still just 3 games in and a lot can go tits-up.

Even though penalties are an issue, I liked the brand of physicality--Shaw lays down a monster hit, but doesn't get baited and drew a penalty. This is a good thing and needs to be reiterated as something other guys should be doing. Crawford looked on. Keith looked on. Can't complain about the result.

Yeah, but in all honesty, if that was a hit on Kane or Cat, we would have lost our shit. It was going to be good enough before Shaw launched himself off the ice. that is the whole point to clean and unclean hits, the launch.

they at least returned the favor and ran their goalie late. The oilers can watch some tape and determine we will retaliate, and hopefully some others notice. I'm tired of that shit, every time a goalie gets run, imo, a full on brawl should breakout and somebody needs to get punched in the face.

I believe Kane did get smoked once or twice early in his career and his response was, "I gotta keep my head up." Seriously though you're the only person I've ran into who saw Shaw launch across the interwebs--that hit looked clean to me: Shoulder-to-shoulder contact and feet didn't leave the ice until the hit.

I like the overall play of the Hawks last night, it showed they were playing with a little desperation and they came out with a W.
I am liking what Saad is bringing, it was great to see Kaner light the lamp, now It’s time for Tazer to get going.

IMO Shawzie sent a message that he had no intention of watching his team fall asleep again...…..doze off and you might catch one yourself in practice!

He better not! :p

Hopefully @t-man1957 has a better night now that the Hawks won. Imagine angrily ragequitting a forum the same day you sign up LMAO.
He started his own game-day thread cuz no one wants to play with you. ...face it...

Addendum: I would also like an IHN sub-forum

The Predators and the Lightning have a bit of a gap between us yet, but I see potential if one or two of these young players emerge. Weber and Josi on a third pairing tonight, is a bit of a mockery of us, but I have no faith in Rinne. I think they win 2 or 3 cups with a top 10 net-minder over last 5 years.

Bruins...a few teams at least are loaded with dangerous forwards. Penguins are unhealthy but look nasty if they all come back and join the group stepping up right now.

When Bovquist/Strome/Kane/Cat/Toews were on the ice together I'm telling you it looked like harlem globetrotters for a minute. Most dangerous I have seen a Hawks PP in forever. Every pass was HOT DOGGY!!

Okay, I have been trolling for awhile about your drug addiction, but now its very apparent.

Shea Weber hasnt been on the Predators since 2015-16.

Boqvist (PLEASE LEARN TO SPELL SIMPLE NAMES IF IT ISNT TOO HARD FOR YOU) has never suited up for a Blackhawks game.

Get help.

Checking in late, obviously, but I was in Las Vegas over the weekend....with Knights games and football , it wasn't easy to find the Hawks on a TV (Saturday it didn't happen.) But I managed to catch the last two periods of the Oilers game at the Golden Nugget sports book. All I can say is, who the hell were those guys in red? They were hitting people, and getting involved in scrums...very happy with the effort last night.

Same here, although if memory serves, he's started off hot to begin a season before, only to cool down. He said before the year started that he sees himself as a top-six player, so he's definitely playing with a chip on his shoulder. Either way, I feel like both he and Shaw have been our best Hawks to start the year. Kubalik and Kampf have exceeded my expectations, at least so far.

Toews hasn't looked good to me. It's early, but he looks like he did during his most recent down year: slow as hell and nowhere near Toews-strong on the boards.

Yannick Weber.

Your too stupid to dignify with replies, thats why nobody wants to play jackass.

Hmmmmm...what you think I made up seeing Boqvist with Strome/Kane/Cat?

They were on the ice together in pre-season PP and it was top level hockey 5v4. It was saucer pass, settle, saucer pass, settle, flick in the air, ...

Good chance we see it again within 4-18 months...so you can bash my visions then.

I honestly can't wait for Boqvist. He's been the first prospect I've been legit excited about since TT.

That hit by Shaw behind the net was awesome.

There you go Grimson. Time to stop being a shitty troll. If thats your thing its about time you stopped being so pathetic at it. Its sad to watch. This is better.

Welcome them in the door. Make some tea. Get them settled, make them feel comfortable. Share some personal info, go through ups and downs with the team...then...just when they rely on you a bit you turn up the weird and gaslight the **** out of their reality.

Lots of blueprints, but the point is if you assault them at the door its no fun for anybody and shows the severe limits of your stratagem and capacity.
