Poles has definitely put a lot of pressure on himself with this draft. I sincerely hope it works out. Even though I've been critical, I'd rather the Bears be good than I be right.

If Gordon and Brisker turn out to be studs---and Pickens, Skyy and Raimann are mediocre or suck---then we'll all look back and say Poles saw something others didn't. And he'll deserve the credit, for sure. And we can all good-naturedly rib each other for being armchair GMs who were so very wrong. Good times. I hope this happens.

But if Pickens, Skyy, Raimann or other young talented WRs/OLs Poles passed on turn out to be great, that's not a good look. It's not not. And Poles will absolutely deserve the blame. And people will say, "Hey, hindsight is 20/20." But it's not a matter of hindsight. There are people right here right now critical of the offseason plan.
To be fair Raimann was projected as early as mid first round and nobody took him until the end of the 3rd round. He also fell way after his teammate who he was more hyped than. So obviously the nfl talent evaluators saw something different than the rest of us

It’s not an excuse, it’s a fact. Are you honestly going to say the situation is the same between us and Pitt? A new Coaching staff in a rebuild compared to one of the most stable franchises in the league?

You guys just want to find something to whine about…

No need to "find something". It's right there.

Come on---Even people who liked the draft have to admit that folks who are unhappy with the lack of resources put around Fields have a point. If someone is not willing to admit that's a legitimate viewpoint, they lack perspective.

You see, I'm willing to admit that the people who were happy with the draft have a point. It's a completely legitimate viewpoint to believe that you fill those corner and safety spots because they are such big positions of need for the Bears. I just disagree with the approach to this point, because to me, Fields is your #1, #2 and #3 priority.

I can acknowledge differing viewpoints and not resort to calling them stupid.

Of course Poles didn’t go out of his way and compromise the overall team just to make a few fans more content with the weapons around Fields (only on paper, btw). He did the exact right thing. Whether it works out or not…we will see.

A bit simplistic. Could be that Gordon, Brisker, Pickens and Moore are all good but Poles gets his WR next year like a Jaxson Smith-Njigba.

He should be judged on the overall rebuild not just this year's draft.
