Rea deserves to be in the rotation. I was not a believer at all. He really took his game up a notch.

Brown should be in the pen. Nasty strike out stuff but a 2 pitch pitcher. It should be Horton time.

SS and 3B have been a eye sore.

Ballestros would be up if he was a 3B. Dude is killing Iowa with power and contact hitter SO and BB rates. Regression would put him at solid ground still

That said the team is over achieving. There is areas that can be improved on.

PCA has a large hole in his game right now. His walk rate sucks. And pitchers can exploit it knowing that he will be aggressive.

This game is all about players adjusting. Right now PCA made a adjustment. Pitching will yet again find a exploit and attack it. Then PCA will have to counter.

I'm kinda looking at Rea as a example. He lowered his arm slot this year and it allows his 4 seem to stay above the normal swing paths which is causing more swing and miss rates.

The game is compiled of this. Players making adjustments. All data is it taking that info. Trying to predict future success off of that data is faulty. Because players are always adapting.

He's 23 in his first full year. He had <400 ABs in 2024. Maybe you should give him time. Nobody said he's in the HOF.

Look all I said is he has a small sample size. I don't like projecting future success off of a small sample

He has made progress. That is all it should be. I don't want to put high expectations on a kid. I will appreciate when he does well and expect growing pains.

I expect more out of established vets. Tucker has been exceptional. Swanson has been a underperforming over paid glove.

Happ is another that you can put higher expectations as he has years of experience to get a mean expectation.

What they were talking about about was Horton is asking a lot to just start. And Flexen at the end of the day is Flexen.

Brown's issue is he lacks command of his knuckle curve where he can not sit on the corners. So Phi went through the line up 1 time. Then they spat on his knuckle in the dirt leaving a fast ball missing a tick and a knuckle up in the zone to hammer. That is why Brown imploded

Craig pretty much said that you can not magically produce a 3rd pitch. So Brown is limited and when he has command that is when he can toss a gem. Normally he is a #5 starter if that.

I am good if Brown/Horton happens. It will keep both limited which is a good thing right now.

I really think that Brown should tunnel his normal knickle and his 4 seem in the upper zone and his spike knuckle and a change up lower zone. Keep the hitters from spitting on pitches. The change could be meh then. Just stay down in the zone where a spit becomes a called strike
