I would like to see Caissie get some playing time, but wanting the lineup set because somebody's mommy and daddy are in the stands is ridiculous, and wanting the team president to set the lineup is even worse.

You are such a a mean dude. Jed should have sat Craig down like an adult and told him. When a man and a woman get together sometime a baby happens. When they grow up and do something special that mommy and daddy really would love to see it for the first time.

Sitting on a bench is not that special.

But in all seriousness Caissie should have played a game. They are playing a scuzzy team that don't matter. The Crew are incoming after and Caissie sitting on pine or sent down to actually play the damn game.

So bringing him up in Toronto was just a PR move.

Or a distraction from how shitty they were playing.

That was accomplished push him back behind the curtains.

My thing with Caissie is I don't think i would have called him up. I would have went with Alcantara. Caissie can really only play for Happ. He can't play CF and if you're subbing Suzuki or Tucker for him I feel like you're admitting you have much bigger problems because in theory they should be in the line up every day.

With Happ I can see the case for it. But I think if you're benching happ for a rookie that's going to have clubhouse considerations for a long tenured vet with the club. That's not to say it's the "wrong" play but I think fans are much quicker to pull that lever than teams because there is a human element to decisions like that.

With Alcantara my thought was you just protect all 3 outfielders who hit righties better by calling up a guy who crushes lefties. And unlike Caissie he can play CF. Either way though, I don't think it's inherently negative that Caissie is on the bench. The AAA season is basically over already so it's not like he's missing a ton of chances to play. And there's an argument that getting used to MLB schedules in a situation with less pressure isn't a bad thing.

Plus I mean he's basically taking Berti's role or Brujan with Castro taking Berti's. So, even just as a PH it's likely an upgrade.

It was a PR move. Give him a game at his home. Get the fans distracted from the shitty brand of Baseball and move on. Caissie will go back down not used as Craig is not giving up PA's to a struggling rookie this late in the season.

I could see them bringing up Ballestroes as he has had some struggles and might add value. Good contact bat that puts the ball into play

Utah, get me two!

Let's give the Brewers the series. Maybe the incredible horseshoe has dropped out their ass.
