So in the history of the NFL Lamar Houston who is in YEAR 2 of a 5 year contract and he was hurt for half of year 1 is already one of the worst 25. What a crock. If by the end of the year we cut him and get no additional production from him I would agree it was a horribly bad contract, but with 3.5 years remaining, and him finally getting healthy, things still have a chance to turn around. Such a stupid choice.

So in a list of the 25 worst contracts in NFL history, the Bears get three mentions. All under Emery's watch. LOL

But, I would have to agree, the Cutler contract doesn't belong. It gets blown out of proportion because it's Cutler. I think the first 2 years may have been an albatross, but after that, it's reasonable.

Agree with that. It was really this year that was the albatross, and it has actually worked out for us ok. Instead of getting rid of him and trying to find something on the trash/rookie dept he has actually been decent and could survive a few more years while we groom a rookie up.

While all can be argued to be bad money depending on your angle, I don't think any were or will be the difference in the bears competing.

Not at all team friendly. A Colin Kaepernick type deal where you get to say **** off, so long and good bye each and every year of the contract and be free and clear is team friendly.

They could have told him to **** off after last year and save a ton but fortunately and unlike Kaep, he was worth keeping.

I would put Tommie Harris ahead of Cutler or Houston on that list. They don't even have the worst Bears contracts right.

The dead cap space and the fact they'd be on the hook for a lot of money still owed him made him unmovable and untradeable cause no other team is stupid enough to take an average QB w/elite pay. .

Add to that, they are talking about him only as a pass rusher but that offseason the front office went out with one goal in to improve a league worst ability to stop the run, drafting 2 DTs and signing the 2 best DEs when it came to run stopping, Houston and Young. Both had great results against the run, which is why they were signed. Houston was never a great pass rusher so why the hell is he judged by sacks alone?

The sack celebration thing was stupid for sure but come on, a freak injury and now one of the worst contracts ever?
