Getsy and/or Flus have something against Montgomery. He gets taken out of the game for long stretches at a time. I can see when he needs a breather and they sub him out, but today they were trying (and failing) to use Ebner in the role of Herbert and it made it quite obvious they don't want to use Montgomery. Ebner seemingly had 0 interest in attacking the line of scrimmage.

Just look at the last couple of drives where the starting QB is grabbing his hamstring and they call a QB sweep instead of a handoff to Montgomery (assuming they were going to run the ball anyway in a 2 minute situation). Then they double-down by calling a second QB run.

I figure Monty will be gone after this season and they'll be ignoring some other poor soul at RB.

I wish I knew what the problem is. This is a running theme all season. Montgomery is the type of back that gets stronger as the game goes along and without Herbert they should be looking to take advantage of this, but today they'd rather run their QB 18 times. Go figure.

probably an evaluation of Ebner. if there's any one positive to take away from a season like this you can see what you have in players. Montgomery and Herbert were split pretty 50/50, cause they know what to expect from each. Montgomery isn't going to get you 60 yards on like 10 carries, he needs the reps and it'll get you production. I like that they're finally using him in the passing game, that's what he was advertised as being good for when he was drafted and Nagy never utilized it. that's a whole other subject I'd rather not revisit.

I get the Gordon hate, but on that TD, it's almost impossible for anyone to guard a fast tall guy the entire width of the football field in man coverage. You expect your guys up front to keep the QB from having 5 seconds to throw inside the 20.

Why Velus? Sure, he was invincible on offense but he does run in motion very nicely. But he had a 55 yard kickoff reutrn and didn't do anything wrong. No dropped passes or dropped retruns. Many others more deserving

Schofield and Mustipher were atrocious, Grady Jarrett and a bunch of no names ate them alive. Imagine an Oline being that bad. It would be like the Bears pass rushers having a career day. Sorry bastards haven't had a sack since week 6.

Refs are duds. Calling Gordons little forearm swipe on Mariotas shoestrings roughing passer, and then let Fields get bodyslammed into the turf in the pocket bugs me.

I don’t understand why they are playing Kyler inside and not letting him develop on the outside.

Velus is the example that shows the falcons had better coaching than the bears. He had a 55 yard return on his first return. Afterwards, you didn't hear his name anymore. Why? Atlanta never kicked another returnable ball to him.

On the other hand, the bears repeatedly kicked DIRECTLY to Patterson and it burned them.
