North Ave is a death trap. Nearly ever side entrance or side street that exits North Ave in Carol Stream will have a cop doing radar there. I suppose with a low level crime rate and a bloated police budget, that's why they do what they do.

I also don't really know how Carol Stream is on there. They have no downtown and its just all industry and then residential housing. Hardly any commercial zones.

Another bad spot near you is St.Charles Rd. just east of downtown Lombard...in that 30MPH zone...and near the Secretary of States DMV office. In Carol Stream they sit in those industries behind the landscaping. In Elmhurst/Oakbrook Terrace, they love Rte. 83 around Butterfield Rd. Back in the day, I used the fly north over 100MPH at 2AM watching their lights fade on that road. Then I would turn off on side streets before they could radio ahead...lol

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  2. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
I grew up all over DuPage, the entire county sucks. However, Glen Ellyn is an exception...and Oak Brook. How Carol Stream beat out such towns as St. Charles or Dundee is beyond me. I used to work in C.S....it's a dump.

BTW, do NOT speed there....that's all they do there is write tics....North Ave in particular.

you mean west dundee right because i live in east dundee and it blows.

I grew up in Carpentersville, and yes it isn't a scenic area.

ahh before my time there. i graduated in '04

That and the place is huge. I doubt we would have crossed paths much. Anyways I am pretty familar with the area like how I always found it funny that Carpentersville Middle School was in East Dundee and Dundee Crown High School was in Carpentersville.

I've never seen them on St. Charles Road...I don't go down that way east of the downtown that much though, usually turn on Main Street (They do use spots on Main). Westmore Ave where the DMV is, yeah they have several spots along there. Mostly they use the parking lot the DMV is located in. Mind you numerous accidents happen from people pulling out from the parking lot onto Westmore, so I'm sure in part that has to do with police having a presence here.

And yeah, 83..they'd always do Radar on the ramps. I work at a bank and a few of our security guards are former Oakbrook Terrace cops, and they are always telling their stories about pulling people over or attempting to.

So we're in agreement then, Illinois is the greatest State in the history of human civilization?

That was the street I could not recall, Westmore. Oakbrook Terrace, I used to get on 83 at Ogden and ride the throttle all the way to North Ave. The only traffic lights going north/south are near the mall. After midnight, they are/were always green. Roosevelt Rd is pretty good until you get to Wheaton, then you'll find them on side streets.

As for Carol Stream on the list, the voting was done via the web...I'll bet someone voted 10,000 times...lol. How else could they beat out the entire North shore?.

I love Oswego

Not surprised at all it was listed.

Sure as hell better than morris

There's only three places to go in Morris:

1. R-Place Truck Stop
2. Dairy Queen
3. The adult video store :shifty:
