I don't see Meredith as a number 1 receiver or even close to it. Unless White plays (or even just plays) like a number 1 receiver, there's no way Meredith will have the games that he had last season. You're basically saying that Meredith is just as good as Julio Jones, Dez Bryant, Odell and Demaryius Thomas which is a laughable statement.

When? Seriously people keep saying this and I cannot find anyone who can give concrete examples of when he looked like a #1 WR.

Do people keep saying this because they saw Windy say it?

I don't think he is a #1, although his physical numbers are right there.

My hope is he can become a really good #2, maybe put up 1000 yard consistently.

Those are elite players. They are not the standard for what a top 10'QB becomes.

Do you mean WR? and yes with no one else on the field to take the heat of Meredith he will have to become a true number 1

Hall, Robertson-Harris and Bullard...

Robertson-Harris has me interested.....if he has been properly coached up......?! The man's a FREAK! Mad athletic skills....listing him as an OLB?! Could bulk up as a DE but they have him playing light as an LB.......

Possibilities!

Being a top #1 receiver doesn't mean he's a top 5 receiver. Just that he's a legit go-to receiver. He has the size and athleticism and natural ball skills to be that, in my opinion. He's needs to improve his concentration, consistency and technique but the raw ability is there.

Goldman is fun to watch but it feels like he's always getting dinged or rolled up on.

Hall, although I don't think he starts but is more of a cover specialist for the taller WR/TE and red zone specialist.

nick kwiatkoski Is my special teams break out, I think he'll show well while Trevathen is hurt, but will take a step forward into being a special teams stud.

Guys who intrigue me

Diondre Hall
Roy Roberson-Harris
Crevon Leblanc
Cam Meredith

If 2 of those guys could take a big step it would be awesome and have a huge impact for the Bears.

I don't know if Cam Meredith has the contested catch/go get it ability that I would expect from a #1 WR.

He makes the catches he should make and gets some additional yards. To me he looks like the perfect #2 WR and could be an upper echelon guy in that role.

I would target 70 catches, 1000 yards, 7-8 TDs for him this season. Very similar to Marques Colston.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Cam and THREE other #2s would be a Great receiver corps to have on the field at once.
#2s are better to have anyways because you don't have to put up with the Diva-esque attitude, nor pay the exorbitant money

Mock me now bitches. I'll bump this thread after the season.

Why would I want to mock you? No real Bears fan wants to see him fail or injured again. I am pretty sure we all want to get something out of that 7th overall pick.

I don't disagree with this.

Unless you have Julio Jones who is a stud and a normal human, I would rather have a whole bunch of diverse #2s. Big guy, fast guy, slot quick guy, and maybe another outside guy.

Meredith and White I think can be good number 2 types. I have given up on White ever being elite. I hope Wright can step up of not we need to add a real slot weapon in the offseason.

I hope he does but 1k receiving is not a big accomplished anymore. 25 WRs reached 1k in 2016 and 26 the year before. Hitting 1k in the 16 game season only requires an avg. of 63yds a game.

You realize the contradiction you just made? If reaching 1000 yards was so common and not a big accomplishment then why doesn't every team have a 1000+ yard receiver?

Contradiction? It's over 80% of the league. I would say that's "common".
