Anybody cam get a job sports-writing for yahoo... that is seriously some of the stupidest stuff I've ever read from a "big name" website. Whoever thinks Durant doesn't play defense has never actually watched him play.

As a side note, I think yahoo's writers are generally excellent. I don't know who this guy is, but he isn't a regular, and I couldn't even find this article linked on the live site without going through the link.

Actually, Chauncey Billups is overrated and should be on the list.

Overrated by who...? I've never heard his name in the best PG discussion...ever. The guy can flat-out make shots, make good decisions, and win you games.

You. I watch a lot of the Nuggets and the guys game has dropped off noticeably. I actually think their best PG is Lawson.

If I overrate him, that's one thing. I just believe he has gotten overlooked for his entire career. I am almost positive you would surely see many more Nuggets games than I do, but I do see him as a HOF-caliber PG.

With Billups, its like his last hurrah was the Western Conference semi-finals of 2009. He's still good but his game has dropped off and, like I said, stuff seems to happen more when Lawson is in. Meanwhile, Billups has become less consistent.

Ive heard other people try to still put him up there with the best PGs and thats no longer the case. Again, Im not saying he sucks. Im just saying he's not longer elite.

If Billups really has slowed down a lot on defense, I could see where you are coming from there. Billups' consistency was one of the big reasons for his success. I would put him above a guy like Ty Lawson, but surely someday Billups will fall off the radar.

I think Billups slows things down too much. Lawson has younger legs and can push tempo. When I watch, it seems like its more advantageous to Denver when Lawson is playing PG than Billups.

I've heard several people refer to Durant as the 2nd best player in the NBA. His TS% dropped 10% in the playoffs and his PER dropped 10 points. If he put up his season average in efficiency in the playoffs the Thunder would have scored 5 more points per game on the same number of shots, and they would have won the series.

Note, I'm not saying Durant is overrated, I'm just saying if I were to make the case, it would be because of the playoff performance and the fact that many people I've talked to have him as the #2 guy in the NBA.

well the thunder did play one of the best front courts in the league. Gasol, bynum, and artest are a scary force. Even if artest and bynum were injured.

I think Denver's best line-up is
Lawson
Billups
Anthony
Martin
Nene

This is the way they can really push it in transition and utilize Billups primarily as a 3rd scoring option and 2nd play-maker. And also, they are very nice from a defensive stand-point.

I think in the later part of last season, the Nuggets offense really stalled because Adrian Dantley just let J.R. Smith and Kenyon Martin do whatever the hell they wanted to in-isolation mode. I wouldn't fault Billups for that... perhaps you are right that he is slowing down. But Dantley was definitely the worst coach in the post-season last year.
