By virtue of a side-letter agreement by the NFL and NFLPA in 2022, teams are limited to a combination of ten (10) “Exemption” and “Veteran” players, but no more than six (6) of the ten (10) can be “Veteran” players.

pettis will make it as well, they need a PR and dont see bears carrying 3 qb's. as for DT and DE, kareem will be replaced by yannick or a vet who gets cut by another team. cowart or DT from another team.
if kiran looks good, borom will be trade bait to a tackle needy team

I would remove Rypien
Given the emergency QB rule for 2024, yeah, there's no reason to carry a 3rd QB on the 53 man roster unless you're trying to protect them from being poached from the practice squad (if I understand the rule correctly).

I would remove Rypien, Murray and Kareem and replace with Pettis, Borom, and Cowart/FA.
yes, if velus makes the team they need a PR

So either deandre carter or pettis makes the team, you'd expect it to be pettis off his last couple weeks of preseason play + his speed.

If there's a choice between the 2, they should keep Wheeler over Velus Jones. Also, 6 WRs. So I dunno.

Offense cuts (3);

Rypien-Murray-Johnson

Offense adds (2) :

Borom-Pettis

Defense cuts (2):

Hutchins/Kareem

Defense adds:

Cowart or likey another team cut FA DT or street edge (or both)

Might keep extra safety/cb for ST

Could leave one more spot.....could be homer

I like two QB's as that would allow us a 10th offensive lineman, matching the defensive line.

Also, why not just cut Sewell? He hasn't done shit and has shown zilch.

Can't argue with this. I wish Sewell could have stayed healthy, all American LB.
They may be able to trade him and or Pettis and or Borom.

He really hasn’t. But NFL GM’s don’t like to give up on draft picks after one year. Has he even practiced once this year?

Boron’s use by the coaching staff this preseason screams “swing tackle”, not someone who’s going to be cut. When B. Jones doesn’t play, Borom is the starting LT. When B. Jones does start, Borom is the 2nd/3rd quarter LT. The coaching staff hasn’t even tried to work in any other serious roster candidate at LT. The $3M contract issue is just noise. Borom is OT #3 until Amegadije is ready, and that’s not this year.

You could be right but I think Borom sucks so I wouldn't keep him on the roster over an extra Guard on this team based on Teven/Davis injury history. Amegadjie getting healthy makes Borom expendable not even mentioning the $3M saved.

Wheeler is a one trick pony that can't catch or do anything on special teams. Velus is at least capable of being active on game day in multiple spots

The WRs on the team after Scott suck plus again Velus at least has experience there to be a hybrid player.
