My favorite teams
The Bears once again need a lot of help and possibly half the 53 man roster could be turned over just to be competitive.
QB position is fine for now. Hopefully Tyson can develop into that long-term backup.
RB maybe add one player here.
WR Three receivers are needed Allen and Scott will be on their way out. Scott has been a complete bust as a draft pick. Need to add some competitive depth here to compliment two good players one star and a developing first round pick. Any injury here could be devastating.
TE Kmet is the floor level of TE I want around here for the rest of the existence of the Bears franchise. Yeah if they find greatness that would be fine. But if it never gets any better or any worse than him that's fine with me. Yet another Pace draft pick that looks way better than any Poles draft pick. Are we going to have to wait for seven years for Poles to figure out how to be a good GM? They need two additional depth pieces here.
OL is a frigging mess. They need three new starters minimally and probably 5 new depth pieces. Jenkins may or may not return. Probably draft a starting left tackle and then hope Kiran and Jones can be two depth pieces but Jones is going to need extended after 2025 most likely so they may need to find his depth replacement soon.
Defensive line isn't in much better shape than the offensive line.
Sure fine get by with Dexter, but will Billings be the same? Sweat is becoming what Walker should be, they're in need of an above average pass rusher.
They'll probably need depth at all 4 spots as well. Cowart and Booker may lessen that somewhat. I think you could flex to a 3-4 with Billings and Dexter manning the zero and 5 technique spots. Booker may be a situational pass rusher in that alignment.
The level of competent depth needed here may be at an all time high.
Linebacker, Edmunds eventual replacement and probably a depth piece.
The secondary needs probably two safeties one immediately if Brisker can't bounce back and Byard's eventual replacement.
Corners are probably settled for a while with hope that with some guidance and leadership Stevenson can reach his full potential.
Overall I can't make the case that Ryan Poles should be retained given the numerous mid round misses and the lack of depth coming from the UDFA market.
I believe it's an average of 30 percent of NFL rosters are made up from the UDFA pool of players and the Bears have two significant players from there in Sanborn and Bagent with no real promising developmental depth pieces in place.
Somehow they think that Ryan Poles has this team in the right direction.
