See I was taught multiplication or division, addition or subtraction and go from left to right then



so 6/2(1+2) becomes 6/2*3

so then it becomes 3*3 which equals 9



which is why its just a poorly written equation in my opinion

i got 1 because of the way it was written. If it was written this way (6/2)(1+2) it would be 9 without a doubt. its just a badly written equation, some people divide 6 by 2 then multiply and others multiply the 2 since its directly next to the parenthesis. Order of operations: PEMDAS Parenthesis, exponents, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction

Right. The 6 would be divided by the lower half 2(1+2). 6 Divided by 2(3). 6 Divded by 6. 1.
