Best stat of the weekend on Keenan Allen.

Keenan Allen had THE LEAST amount of separation per target of any WR in the NFL this weekend against the Jaguars. Keenan Allen was NOT getting open.

Keenan Allen 5 targets 5 catches 41 yards and two touchdowns.

BECAUSE CALEB WILLIAMS THREW HIM OPEN. He put the ball where only Keenan Allen could make a play on the ball and as a result the crafty veteran had a two touchdown day.

Your receivers don't have to get separation if your QB can put the ball where only the receiver can make a play on the ball. Caleb Williams did that and that's yet another sign of what is to come.

Did you just watch the game? Not counting one horrific pass/int, I’ve never seen better ball placement from a Bears QB in a full game. Shitty defense or not, that ball placement would **** every DB... ELEEEEET BALLS. And he still has room to improve.

I would say it's an indication things are getting more shored up at Waldron's level. there was that story about them not scripting the first 15 plays, did that change when the offense got way better?

There's been a lot of self scouting done.

One of the biggest things they've done is more running plays that get Swift in space instead of trying to get him to break tackles at the line. Roschon Johnson can be their inside zone between the tackles guy. Let Swift get to the edge.

That in turn sets up everything else.

As does going empty. Empty sets helps Caleb recognize coverage presnap. If someone goes in motion and a defender goes with him they're in man. If no one goes with him there's a good chance they're in zone. Caleb is making adjustments accordingly and shredding defenses as a result.

I think it's too early to stack up the defenses. Two of those teams are benefiting from Caleb's slow start and not necessarily because they're great.

At least the Texans were great last year.

Yea, hunter and anderson suck now because caleb was a rookie.

The titans, even with a guy you prob love cause you love white guys(will levis) turning the ball over nonstop are still a top 10 defense in DVOA.

Both those dlines are one of the best in the NFL.

Honestly, I don't think I have seen the kind of placement very regularly in my time as a Bears fan that we saw last week against the Jags. We have seen some awesome flings downfield from Grossman, Cutler, Trubisky and Fields that you want out of your QB of course. But those laser, on-target throws in the red zone were hope-killing INT opportunities for the QBs we had previously all been rooting for.

Minnesota just wrecked our OL in both games last year. Pretty sure the the Lions games will be awesome and I'm never taking anything for granted against GB just because they've beaten us soundly with LaFluer and they had pressure up the middle at will against us in week 18 last year.

The first TD pass to Allen was a rocket to the only place it could go to be a completion. That was an example of elite ball placement. He hit his back foot and let it rip. The defender had no chance to make a play.

Tell us more about how those defenses padded their stats against CW as if that somehow makes any logical sense

If Caleb is great and those defenses shut him down, that would mean those defenses are also great
