679 the Score: Parkins vs Biggs

I thought I heard Parkins say that he was receiving tweets about it being asked if Holmes' video was directed at him. I could be wrong.

Parkins said he asked two guys about the video and was confused why people were @ him on twitter about it but it was like a 3 second thing between him and Mac and the rest of the conversation was about national media or analysts. The transition was completely friendly until Holmes became a complete dick. This is entirely on Holmes.

LH put up a video on Monday saying that he hears too many people saying Mitch is a future HoF'er (obviously hyperbole), and saying that just because he's critical of Mitch it doesn't mean that he thinks he's bad, or that he won't progress. LH also said that he was more impressed by Mitch's performance against Miami than he was Tampa. M&P replayed it yesterday, and apparently he was getting tweets that LH was directing it at him. So during transition they discussed it, and LH couldn't believe that Parkins thought that it was directed at him. Parkins apparently was pulling the audio and polling people as to who listened to it, and the last bit of the exchange went like this:
Holmes, "This is what you do, and you're successful at it."
Parkins, "Thanks, that sounds really genuine."

Do you know where I can hear this podcast? The only thing I can find for the Score anymore is the Radio.com page, and they only seem to have a few select segments with guests.

To be fair I really dislike Holmes and there's obviously some behind the scenes stuff between them too.

Just listening to the tone of the conversation though Holmes is the one who really gets chippy and escalates shit.

I also think he was speaking for Goff. Check his twitter timeline from Sunday after the game and see how similar it sounds to Holmes' video.

A little off topic, last Thursday Mac was off to attend the funeral of a lifelong friend. Spiegel was sitting in for him and commented to DP about how Mac would probably be missing more than this one day blah blah. Parkins ignored it, rightfully so, but that chit doesn't belong on the air.
I'm not trying to stick up for what Mac did, don't care but Spiegel should know better than bringing that shit up. His personal drama doesn't belong on the air.

Wow, just listened to that 15 minutes of miscommunication. I like Holmes, but he was being a little ***** about that whole thing. I have no idea what he was or could've been upset about. I think Parkins is a straight forward, lets get all the facts in the open type host. He isn't shy about topics or discussing touchy subjects, but this wasn't a touchy subject at all.

Sure could be, but he has the gig with NBC too, so he's being pulled in multiple directions. I'm not sure what his schedule is, but I'd think his NBC gig trumps the Score. I guess he either needs to kiss more ass or work harder to get the afternoon slot, if that's what he wants. LOL

I didn't care for Parkins when he first started, but he's grown on me, simply because he doesn't beat around the bush, he'll ask very direct questions. I like how awkwardly uncomfortable he can sometimes make an interviewee. I've always like Holmes, but man, if it is a personal beef about being passed over, he needs to let that go. Parkins didn't do that to him, the station execs did.

Yeah, I'm kinda glad they just aired it. Otherwise, all the listeners would be blowing up twitter, more than they are, hassling them both, along with other hosts, about wtf went down off the air. I'm content knowing that there, obviously, is an issue between them, that neither are talking about specifically. I don't need to know their personal beef, but I think there would be even more back and forth today, if the station dropped it, in the middle of the debate.

I've always thought LH was meh, from where I sit he isn't afternoon drive time material. Parkins was a solid choice.
