At first it was an 8.0, then an 8.2, now an 8.1? I Guess it's all being sorted out. High aftershock activity.

The US Tsunami Warning System said the earthquake was a potential tsunami threat to several Central American countries, including the Pacific coastlines of Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, El Salvador and Costa Rica. It added that the threat was still being evaluated for Hawaii, Guam and other Pacific islands. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) said the earthquake's epicentre was over 600 miles away near the small town of Pijijiapan in southern Chiapas state. It was at a depth of around 20 miles, it added.

And if you're curious.

Crazy, 8.2 is no joke. Tsunami warnings and international crisis workers and media are all dispersed nearly everywhere as is.

^^ This map is outdated. The earthquake was updated to a 8.2 from 8.0. The intensity is actually stronger, but nobody has an updated map as of this posting.

Be cool, please keep the 'wall' jokes and politics for to the B&I section.

Just a comparison on tracking updates. People in Mexico City felt it, many are sleeping in the street because that's safer than in their homes. Mayor reporting no major damage there, so that's some good news.

R.I.P. my condo in Nuevo Vallarta.

My sister, her husband and my two nieces felt it in Guadalajara. Closer to the epicenter than Mexico city and well I am not even sure if I had family staying at the condo in Nuevo Vallarta right now. Anyone along the coastal cities should be getting the **** out.

The Earth is doing what it has always done; but now we have people on the planet to experience and report natural phenomena.

Thoughts/prayers/whatever well wishing to those in the area. That's a lot of activity in a short time. Best to everyone and their fams.

The timing of this one is a little eerie.

The quake hit hours after many people took part in drills and commemorative events on the anniversary of a devastating earthquake that killed thousands in Mexico City, more than three decades ago.

The frequency and severity of these events are going to become worse and worse. Earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, fires, flooding, etc, etc. Take care of the environment when you can, friends.

I think it's a little late to care. People should have started caring decades ago.

We've gone back and forth arguing before, but this is more than that. Hope everything is alright my man.
