There are 100 names.

I look at it and no matter how this year goes the Bulls basically have two starting positions to look at, the 3 with Deng departing or call it the 2 if Jimmy goes to the 3 and the 4 if in the unlikely event they amnesty Boozer. I don't know if Tony Snell will break into the rotation this season to be counted on next year. And they figure to keep Hinrich.

Maybe you make an offer to Lebron. After that I don't see major game changers and there are some players who just aren't worth it but will get max offers from teams. From the top half I like Lance Stephenson and Pau Gasol. In the last half I always thought Darrell Arthur had potential in better a situation. But otherwise so many of them have shortcomings that just don't seem to fit with the Bulls usual plans.

Even with the amnesty of Boozer and allowing Lu to walk....the Bulls will still be at $56 Mil and will have to use the full MLE to bring Mirotic over.

A guy like Hawes would be ideal to spell Taj & Jo...but we wouldn't have the room.

If Deng walks and we amnesty Boozer, we'll be ~10 million under the cap. The cap limit this year is 58.5 million... so I'm guessing it'll be around the same next season. Before amnestying Boozer, our payroll will be 64.94 million, and Boozer is set to make 16.8 million.

So we'd really be ~5M under after signing Mirotic. That's hardly enough to get anyone useful.

assuming we get Mirotic. It's no guarantee he even comes next season. This is from October 10th:

Nikola Mirotic: The NBA is an option for my future but I'm still young and I'm not in a rush to play there. Encestando -

My hope is we can retain Deng and bring over Mirotic, and the Bobcats pick defers to at least next year. Those two additions and the development of Teague/Snell/Murphy is all we need.

Wait on a Kevin Love shot, hope the Mirotic situation resolves in our favor. Either trading Deng for assets or retaining him is our best option, if he walks for nothing we lose out.

Fair enough I guess. 10M would be a good number to spend on a decent player. Hopefully someone who can replace Deng's production at that price.

Deng will be gone after this season unless he comes at a discount because he loves Chicago. Some team will overpay for him in free agency. I personally think we should at least make an attempt to sign Melo or LeBron(if he opts out). I know everyone on here will be like "but neither of those guys wants to come here" but I think we should at least try if we can free up enough space. Mack Brown assumed the same thing and may lose his job because of it so I see no point in not trying. If it doesn't work out then I think we should just wait to make a play for Kevin Love. If that then doesn't work out well I guess we can throw a good bye party for Derrick.

I'd try and sign young and okefor to come off the bench. Young can shoot his def sucks though. We need to buy kirk out and see what we have in teague...why draft a guy to sit on the bench?

As far as offensive minded players go, Nick Young and Marshon Brook could be options that could come cheap. I've been a fan of Brandon Rush because he can play defense as well as hit the 3 at a high percentage. If we're looking at big men, Okafor would be a great option if he would be willing to take less and be a backup. Jordan Hill could be an option, but he might be worth more than we'd wanna pay if he plays the way he's playing now for the rest of the season. We could take Kaman, but he'll probably stop caring a month into the season. Elton Brand could be a Nazr/Kurt Thomas type of pickup that might work well. Ed Davis is a high potential player as well.

We could get like 3 of those players if we pay each of them like $3M or $4M, but I don't think that'd help us improve much. But with tops $10M cap space, we're looking at like...Danny Granger at best. Maybe we could get Gordan Hayward for $9M? Doubtful...he'll get way more than that imo.

Once again, free agency not looking very good for us. :elephant:

Kobe COULD be a STRONG Possiblity! He always speaks highly of Rose so I could see Kobe try to pursuing his 6th Ring with another team and he is exactly what we need to be honest, someone not afraid to score instead of just standing around waiting for Rose, if that means Deng leaving to add Kobe for a good 2 year stretch...I AM ALL FOR THAT! And you still keep a young guy like Tony Snell who could learn from Kobe a few season than eventually take over for him at SG

as long as we don't end up overpaying someone like Gordon Heyward which looks like more of Gar Paxson move lol

with the way the knicks are playing im starting to think melo might be a possibility

if he wants to leave NY and we free enough space we gotta be favorites...LA would be his other option but we got a much better team

We'd be "favorites" but it wouldn't mean anything, he'd pick some other random team before picking us

Don't want Melo. I'd rather put up with a hardcore tank for TWO seasons and get some top picks, than sign Melo.

Without Rose, the Bulls are no better off than the Knicks. The next FA signing now KNOWS he is coming to be the man.
