[A] Andrew Shaw, Brandon Bollig Recalled

The Blackhawks have recalled Andrew Shaw from the Rockford IceHogs.



Shaw has appeared in 19 games with the Blackhawks earlier this season and was sent down on February 17th in favor of Jimmy Hayes after seeing his production dip. Shaw scored 5 goals and 4 assists while averaging 14:34 TOI/G this season. In 38 games for the Rockford IceHogs, Andrew has tallied 12 goals and 11 assists along with a minus-2 rating and 99 PIM.



Bollig, 25, has never appeared in an NHL regular season game. This season, Brandon has appeared in 53 games for the Rockford IceHogs scoring 3 goals, adding 6 assists, and minus-5 rating all while amassing 163 PIM. He's 6-3, 223 pounds and will play on the left wing when the Blackhawks need an enforcer in the line-up.



No one was sent down in order to make room for Shaw or Bollig, but it is speculated that either Jonathan Toews and/or Niklas Hjalmarsson will be placed on IR.

Shaw got beat to hell in yesterday's IceHogs game. I bet he is more excited then usual to be up!

The more Shaw plays on the big club, the less impressed I am with him.



Still an awesome player that will only improve once he gets his bearings straight and gets used to the speed of the NHL. Can't complain about a 5th round pick that has played as well as he has overall.

I got that tidbit a little earlier than the media. Happens every now and then, not often but it happens.
