I'm not saying that Q is a bad coach, but like mentioned before, I feel like his spark is dulled out and that feeling of powerhouse is gone. All Im saying is as good as this team is under Q, I think they would be unstopable under a coach with some present hockey sense. If I make any sense.

Scott wasn't needed? I think with Carcillo out I would have really wanted Scott out there. Would have been nice if having Scott could have stopped shaw from bleeding on the ice after the first goal but I bet that would have happened anyway. That looked like some sort of planned showcasing thing. Meh, I thought he got a good shot in, can't believe he bled so much from that little shot he took. Sucks for him, guess he won't be fighting till it heals up.

Shaw wanted Rinaldo, Scott wouldn't have stopped that. It was set up from before the puck even being dropped. He did get a good shot in at the beginning though, but Rinaldo caught him good... too bad, could have been a good fight if Shaw wasn't bleeding so bad.

How would have Scott helped exactly? Would he have scored the game-tying goal? Haha! Point is, it's not like any goals were scored as a result of OD misplaying his guy. For the most part the 25-88-81 line had a terrible night defensively along with 10-19-65, not to mention the miscues of 4 and 8 on D. Scott doesn't have any control over that.

I thought Shaw won the fight believe it or not, like you said the first thing I saw was the shot at the begining, you cause him good. I didn't see anything that would suggest the gaping wound like there was which is a bit baffling but it happens. It was obviously prearranged, they were on separate sides of the ice. We will never know how Scott could have impacted the game. He could have had a fight in the 2nd after the 3 straight goals that lifed the team who knows. but I do feel like for better or worse he impacts the team much more than OD does, and Lepisto does the same at that. OD might as well wear the #5.

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Ton:

1) Q is absolutely responsible for the motivation of the team. Last I checked it is the job of the coach to prepare the players to play both before and during the game. He was either unwilling to motivate the guys to play a good D game, or unable. Either way, he takes a good portion of the blame. After all, he could have always sat a core member as a warning to everyone (like he's done before). It wouldn't have changed the result. The core is responsible for lackluster play but Q is responsible for allowing them lackluster play.

2) The argument for icing O'donnel is that he's a vet presence for Olsen--beter than Scott or Lepistopheles could have been

The argument against him is that Scott is playing better than Him and Lepistopheles combined.

I won't debate that choice because I probably would have made the same one, but I think it should be painfully obvious now out of our slot-6 rotation Scott is the best we have until we can find someone better.

It's very discouraging the the Defense seems to have had a large setback this year, which obviously can be traced to missing that beautiful ginger haired all-star, but whatever. They are still a top team in the league with a lot to work on but a lot of time to work on it.

I miss The Ginger so much. Sighs.

And on a related note, it just seemed "wrong" in the latest "Joey, The Junior Reporter" segment that he didn't get to spend any quality Q&A time with The Ginger who was always so good with him.

Q has the Hawks so dismal/lackluster....they're 2nd in the conference - 1pt behind VAN with a game in hand. While playing in arguably the toughest division in hockey. Their division has the best teams, best coaches...unlike VAN who gets to play EDM, CAL, and COL on a regular basis.

John Scott with 4 shifts and 3:25 of ice time... why even dress him if you're not going to use him? Is he benched for something? Hurt?

I think Scott is a better option than O'Donnell at this point... but it's pointless to dress him for only 4 shifts on defense.......

Get us a blueliner Bowman.

Leddy is showing his youth now and just playing like crap. He honestly look like he can't handle the minutes right now. And Seabs and Keith too look to be getting exhausted.

Q put the fucking proper lines back together. **** the checking line if you aren't scoring goals and protecting leads. Our checking line sucks anyways and it starts with the 2 bums on the wings. Frolik is a fucking fail..... Pretty damn clear at this point....how much longer do we need to see this? Bickell is a fucking fail..pretty obvious. Checking line needs to be reassembled so until then throw Bolland up to the second line or Bowman go find some fucking wingers for him.

But god damn fucking shit the defense is just fucking garbage right now. I don't care who the coach is the blueline depth is fucking crap and talk about no emotion. No coach can make that shit work. Bowman..do your fucking job. The blueline needs a shake up something harsh. Showing again just how important Brian Campbell was to the depth. The blueliners are exhausted!!!

There are holes all over this team still. We are lucky Toews exploded in December otherwise this team isn't a top record in the league. Honestly. I really see issues with some of Bowmans moves while we are in slumps like these ones. It's when they are glaring. Q's shit doesn't help either..it just adds to the mess.

Oh and by the way if Leddy was hurt on that last goal against play..no matter how bad Leddy has been lately..if he is out of the lineup then expect a right fucked up month of January.

P.S. Nice game Toews. At least you showed some hussel and some emotion. Not sure if i can say that about many other players out there tonight. If Q is losing the players (which some attest to) it's nice to see the team captain sucking it up and still trying hard instead of whinning in their million dollar spring water.

**** I am cranky. Slumps make me unreasonable I am well aware.

Could barely stay awake to watch the game, went to sleep after the first goal. Woke up with a feeling that the Hawks got spanked, lo and behold, they were. What happened between 2011 and 2012? Why are they so shit? Were their play up til now just a fluke and the true colors of this team are now emerging? **** this shit.

Q and Bowman get this shit sorted or you'll be watching this team struggling for a spot in the playoffs again.

The D is pretty pooched out there. I think it is the reason we are not scoring as well. In the past when our D was playing well, they where feeding the offence with nifty break outs and stretch passes. There is little of that right now. The D is so f'd up that the forwards have to come back to the circles to get the puck and then turn around an go up ice. There is no two or three man rush, only the occasional individual going with pace on any given line.

We need good D men who can share in the minutes. Our top 4 are gassed and its showing.
