Even so thats what is said Burke wants.

who cares what Burke wants? I don't like trading prospects, or picks. Even though Schenn is going to be a good defensemen in this league, We have barely any center depth on the farm.

I'm right there with you. The fact he's a C is what has me not wanthing him traded. Probably same reason Burke wants him wasp.

So what you're saying is Burke would want McNeil for Schenn? (I'm jumping in late here)

I'd be for that. I think the Hawks have a decent crop of young centers - Hayes, Pirri, Danault, Nordstrom...Shaw is a natural center too?

With Kruger still considered a young center (21)....I'd be ok with trading a prospect like McNeil to get a 22 year old Schenn who's signed for 4 more years still - not a rental though. He's big, physical, RH shot, blocks shots....

The other guy I'd like to see the Hawks try to get would be Johnson out of LA, but I think he'd cost more.

I really have a hard time seeing the kings dealing jj. If they do like you said pmx its going to be at a cost we probably can't afford or many other teams for that matter. Kings want more offense and we are talking current roster not picks and prospects although they could use both. Kings are tricky because their defense isn't great either and not sure why they think getting rid of jj would be wise. Quick is the only reason they are in a playoff spot right now.

Is Rex a Newfi or a Wasp? I'm confused.

Yes, PMX not sure where I read it but that's what was said Burke wanted in the Schenn deal. How much of that depth you mentioned is top 6 potential because everything I've read from Mcneil that's where he's projected.

well, he does, doesn't he. Hey can we trade him for say Ken Holland? I mean isn't our front office over Cap Space too? He is a wasted front roster spot if you ask me.

Can we send him to Boston for the Epstein compensation?

Yeah...I don't think the Hawks have what LA needs for JJ. I could see him going to CLB for Carter.

Honestly, I haven't seen much of any of those prospects...so just what I've read. I've heard good things from all that group there (except Pirri being a top 6) Guessing - and basing on just what I've read not seen - Hayes (6'3 205lbs 19yr old) and Danault (57pts in 52gms) could fit the bill.

Kruger, Nordstrom, Shaw probably solid 3rd line centers.

I've liked Schenn's game/what he would bring. Being put in the league - in Toronto nonetheless - at 18yrs old is tough. I think he's got untapped potential and reminds me of a young Seabrook. Schenn could be here a while since he's signed for awhile.

After Keith (28)/Seabrook (26) as being vets at those ages...Hawks would have Hjarllmarsson (24), Schenn (22), Leddy (20)...with Olsen (21) ready for next year. Montador as insurance as a number 7 Dman. Could be a group here for several years and tough to play against.

I'd like to see the Hawks add 1 forward, 1 defenceman...and a vet goalie. For forwards, I'd be stoked to get either Grabovski (as a rental), or Roy (who would eliminate a need for a 2nd line center since he's signed thru next year).

If like to get Schenn too, problem is what we have to give up. Big no to Grabovski though, serious attitude problems there. Talk about someone who isn't liked in his own dressing room!

Grabovski weirds me out. He is a decent center but he goes on these weird streaks. And I am not sure if its him or Toronto that causes these weird streaks of his or a little of both. he started the season off horribly but found his stride in December like he often does. Rex being closer to the Leafs probably explained why.

Think you and I are the only ones that could see Roy as a fit here. The extra season doesnt concern me, the 4 million cap hit isnt that worrisome to me the 5.5 million salary though might not interest Rocky much. Other than fighting through some injuries last season Roy is still a decent 2nd round center on any team. Not sure what the overall issue is with Buffalo this season but I wouldnt read too much into his off season when that entire club is shockingly in a hole. I guess the biggest concern with Roy is that he doesnèt add any physicality to the Hawks and just more finess. That would be the same with Grabovski.

I would take both for depth center come the deadline but both still lack the perfection this team needs...and perfection aint happening so as alternatives both would suffice and I dont think either would make the team worse or confused. Both would improve it. Not having to be commited to Grabovski would obvioulsy be the easiest road to go down but I do think Roy has a lot of good hockey left in him and I could see him having a bounce back season next year returning to his averages which are certainly good ones. If Roy does become available I think you need to really look at him as an option even though the lack of physicality is a draw back. That can be worked around. His defensive game hasnt always been the best either...a bigger concern as a better two way second liner is probably more suitable.

Both are ideas but I doubt many on here would agree they would be good options. I dont think mcNeil is going to be ready for 2nd line NHL minutes next season and I dont think we will ever see Bolland take over that roll full time. I still think the Hawks will be searching for a second line center come next season. Thats just me though. Who knows about McNeil...I am still thrilled by the pick and he is going to be a NHL stud. I will leave it up to the teams scouts to predict if he will be ready by next season. Thats their job. I just have a feeling he will probably be better off with a year on the farm.

Newf: I was willing to let it go but wasps like you are what make hockey riots work - I watched the Blackhawks when Mikita played, BEFORE Google. Before experts morphed out of computer sites. Go back to work.

I'm sure you watched those games on TV, right??

I still think Bolland should have the job, but who knows, maybe Kruger will be ready next year? If not...WHO REPLACES KRUGER?!?

Really about Grabovski? I didn't know....

I'd be good with Roy on the second line with Hossa. I think he's over 50% on draws as well.

The guy is a locker room disease. Everyone in Montreal wanted him out like the plague, and his first game against the Habs after, every Montreal player was going out of their way to take runs at him.

Nobody on here said anything about Kane, but if you go back there's been a number of Kane for Nash comments, without much of an uproar. And no need for someone behind a computer screen to get personal about whether I can pick a winner. You can talk about Quennville, Bowman or whoever else in management that way but do you think your opinions mean squat to anybody else? Catch a train to reality, bud.
