What if instead of signing D-Lee or moving Colvin to 1B (since Jackson likely isn't going to be ready yet come Opening Day), what if the Cubs just re-sign Nady to a 1-year deal. His swing looked pretty good yesterday and if given regular playing time (plus being in better health) he could be that RBI guy to drive in the tying and go-ahead runs in those 1-run games.

I don't know. Maybe Brian LaHair would shine.

We better not re-sign Lee...anyone will play better then him offensively. I wouldn't mind Nady back...But i think we should call Jackson up mid season as well.

ehh.. It wouldnt be the worst thing we could do.

On a side note.. I would expect to see more waiver trades before the end of the month.

They could still sign him again regardless.

The Cubs almost have to trade Fukudome either this month, or this offseason. It will probably involve eating a ton of his $13.5 million due in 2011, but they have to do what they have to do.

I want no part of Nady as a full time player. That ship has sailed for him

To me, Nady is not a starter but a good guy who plays on a regular basis.

i don't know. he's been seeing the ball well lately. i could see him as the starting first basemen next year.

Small sample sizes shouldnt be viewed as potential full season success.

When he's healthier and getting more time, he could be back to '08 form (however so unlikely), or somewhat close to it.

Would still rather just move Soto over.. Might extend his career anyways.

And make who catcher then? Castillo? Hill? And then what do we do when Jackson is ready? Trade Byrd?

Rather than move Soto to a new position, trade him. A 28 year old catcher with his offensive ability would bring back so much in a trade. Why ruin his value by moving him to a new position?
