1. We get off the bus running - One of the few good things Mike Tice allegedly did while in Chicago was hold an intervention where he and Lovie convinced Mike Martz that running the ball was still allowed in this new pass heavy league. We are right around the time in the season where Aaron Kromer needs to channel his inner Tice and give Trestman the same message. It may surprise some people but Matt Forte is average 4.6 yards a carry. Problem is he is also averaging just 14 carries a game. That is fucking stupid. Almost as stupid as Ron Turner not running Thomas Jones in the Super Bowl when he was averaging 5.8 yards a carry. We get it Trestman, you are a QB guru and sure I love your passing game but do you think that part of the reason we have started off slowly the past few games is because you don't run the fun fucking ball enough?

2. The Cincinnati Blueprint - It seems Trestman has gotten a bit enamored with the OL. The offense I saw in Cincy used the passing game along with the running game to help control the game but also to build confidence in the line and with Cutler. What I have seen the past few weeks that we have opened up the offense with the downside being a lot more pressure on Cutler and a slower start. I am not suggesting we play dink and dunk all the time but it seems Trestman has still not found the proper balance of dink and dunk and taking his shots and to me along with the lack of commitment in the running game, it is one of the things preventing the offense form taking off.

3. The Rob Ryan Madness - First a caveat. The only reason the defense is not higher is because I think the first two items are easier to fix. As it relates to the defense, the DL sucks elephant balls. The only solution as I see it is simple. We need to bring the heat. What Rob Ryan has shown is that sometimes you need to take you chances blitzing rather than just sit back and let the QB make easy throws. It is time Mel. The Cover 2 is simply not going to work any more with this DL. And frankly the single high is practically useless when Conte and Wright never get to the sidelines in time any way. So the solution? It's time to blitz from all angles and to play 5 men in coverage. We need to send 5 or 6 guys on just about every play and mixing in Cover 2 or Single High just to keep teams honest. No doubt we will suffer some big plays as a result but so fucking be it.

Honestly, while this team has a lot of work to do there is potential there for us to improve. We just need to stop pussy footing around the reality to commit to things instead of half assing it especially on defense.

#1 is wrong.

We need more no huddle and throw the ball more, and actually throw it deep which is Jay's strength.

That's a solid observation.
These losses are growing pains. And the D-line isn't doing any favors. The 1 thing that comes to mind is Shea Mc. Getting into the back field but stopping to stare at Brees like a deer in headlights. That was the point I started feeling uneasy about the outcome of the game.

1. and 2. most definitely are not happening, and I'm fine with that.

People need to realize that Trestman is, and has always been a pass first play caller, and just this week he stated that he's never considered balance a necessity. It's just ridiculous to hear Bears fans constantly complaining about the lack of balance when you consider who the head coach is. It's like not only have they never heard of Marc Trestman, but also haven't bothered to do a little research since he was named the Bears HC.

A pass rush would be lovely. I think David Bass should be expected to get more playing time, especially with the ends being as shitty as they have been.

Jordan Mills, as much as I love the guys passion-- Is just simply not ready for Sundays yet. He is playing at Jon Scott/JWebb level and I think it's time to look into Britton at RT. There was a reason he was involved early in the game 1st quarter after the line gave up 3 sacks. I think Mills will be excellent in time, but two rookies on the right side is starting to show it's cracks.

Bears better do something about the defensive tackle unit. They need some more bodies and start looking at some street guys that perhaps can even play. It's getting quite concerning when it'll be Zach Minter and who the hell else as the DT's.

Michael Bush needs to start getting more carries. I don't see how anyone can make the arguement saying otherwise.

1. Play Jon Bostic

Our LBs can't cover anyone anyways at least put someone in at MLB who has some dynamic play making ability and punch.

2. Go Deep Earlier

Things seem to open up the minute we get a pass downfield. Until we do the defense cheats up takes away the short stuff.

3. Fire Joe DeCamillis

His special team units make at least 1-2 big mistakes a game and they look confused the rest of the time.

4. Play David Bass more.

Did anyone see him get 2 QB hits me a couple more pressures in like 10 rushes?

I agree with No-Huddle often and playing Bostic. Bring Greene up to speed in the next few weeks. I'm just saying, any kind of big hits, ball hawking and forcing turnovers will help this defense get back on track....instead of looking slow, oldish and piecemeal.

lol No.

Especially considering at least 2 of those sacks(don't remember the 3rd) came from the left.

It's almost like people are just making shit up to complain about now.

Yeah the mills comment was bizarre. Forte whiffing also had a hand in one of those sacks

After 5 games, OTAs, TC, and preseason, the finger is pointing towards the defense that could use some improvement. I don't understand how a subtle change by giving Bostic a chance is really going to hurt them more. And slowly sprinkle Greene in there as well. Just wondering because, I do not know what DJ Williams and Anderson are bringing to the table. They are not real good in coverage. They are not tackling and hitting machines. They don't seem to force turnovers. They look a step slow, provide the occasional swarm tackles, and just fill in spots. In fact, they are re-treads. I hope Tucker points the thumb and makes some changes. Bring in some of the youth that was drafted. Mix them in. Hell start one of them. Let their speed, quickness, improve coverage, and abilities to create turnovers get a fair chance. That's what they did so well at the previous level for years. And that's what the Bears defense has always been about. Well hell., that could be a thread all by itself. I could be way wrong, so my bad. I just don't see what Williams and Anderson are doing so well right now.
