yeah- I dont see any good kickers in the draft coming up, so forget about drafting a kicker.
Besides, Gould went to a pro bowl 10 years ago- he has potential.
There are bigger needs on this team.
Gould didnt let washington run all over the field.
If he didnt have to deal with so many coaching changes, he would be really good.
If the RBs were not always brought down by their shoelaces, the kicks would be closer and easier.

You're trying too hard. There are numerous variables that contribute to a qbs success: the oc has to call a good play, the oline has to block and protect him, and the wrs have to get open and catch the ball. A kicker just has to kick the ball and unless the holder fumbles there is no excuse, it's all on them.

My all-time favorite threads on CCS are the ones that have the word 'perspective' in the thread title. All too often, the OP will try to wow the masses with some over the top, over complicated theory on something. Biff is a major culprit of this.

Simple answer: when the Bears are good again, Gould won't be part of the team. He's old and he's become bad. No reason to keep him around anymore.

Look man all great players come to an end. I will never bash Gould. He is one of the all time greats, and has been one of our most consistant Chicago Bears. He will always be a great Bear. But it may be time to move on. Last week was a tough pill to swallow but this week was icing on the cake. When its your time its your time. He costing us games and its time to move on. I'm still a Gould fan he's one heck of a Bear, but its time for the next generation. The Ravens did the same thing and they took a chance on a rookie and he ended up being Justin Tucker. You can't find the next great if you don't try.

Not ready for an outright release of Gould, but if the team wanted to bring in some extra competition at training camp next year, I'm in for it. Wouldn't surprise if Gould crushed them, either.

Everyone wants to bash Gould for missing....myself included. But after watching the playcalling on that last series I am like WTF. That was Fox playing not to lose. 3 straight runs up the middle. He never even considered trying to win the game. He ran 3 plays that the defense were keyed on. They knew there was no way he would ever call a pass play. This is on Fox as much as it is on Gould.

It's funny. Fox "playing not to lose" always ends with the Bears losing... Haha. May be time for him to switch his mind set.
