[A] MacIver Promoted to Assistant GM

With the loss of Bergevin the Blackhawks decided to fill the void with Norm MacIver. Norm played a role the last five years as Director of Player Development as well as spending this past season as Director of Player Personnel.



Here's a tidbit of Stan Bowman towing the company line:

Norm has proven to be a valuable asset to our hockey operations over the past five years, so we are excited to be able to elevate him to this role. He has an excellent handle on the players within our organization, from recent draft picks to veterans, and a great eye for talent evaluating. Promoting within our organization is something we take great pride in and we are very confident in what he will contribute on a daily basis as we strive to hire the best possible candidate at every position.

John Buccigross says the Blackhawks are "a mess internally" and "expect more changes" with his belief that things are wonky at the top.

I believe it's pretty standard for NHL front offices.... I don't see any more positions in the Blackhawks' front office than I see elsewhere.
