Zaccheaus will beat Burden out especially since Burden might miss a lot of camp with his owwieSorry.............that is not an open competition.
A 7th round pick vs a running back who can't stay healthy...........not very newsworthy. Burden vs Zaccheaus now that may move the needle a bit.
I agree but not for the reason you state. At this stage Zaccheaus is a very good NFL WR, so the Bears don't have to push Burden onto the field. Burden also has to become a more consistent route runner in Johnson's offense.Zaccheaus will beat Burden out especially since Burden might miss a lot of camp with his owwie

I see Monangai taking some of Swifts snaps, rather than Roschon.Monangai will replace Roshon Johnson as RB2 FOR THE Bears in 2025, slay this thread at your own risk, as I won't hesitate to bring it back at the seasons end
Except you're a Bears fan dipshit. This has already been proven.Monangai will replace Roshon Johnson as RB2 FOR THE Bears in 2025, slay this thread at your own risk, as I won't hesitate to bring it back at the seasons end
Behind that lions OL Swift/Williams was an effective RB duo. Perhaps behind a much-improved Bears OL Swift/ Johnson/Monangai can do the same.Reading through this thread just shows how bad the Bears RB room is. Swift is a solid change of pace back. He’s good in space, but not a lead RB. Roschon is the 4th option on a team with a decent RB room. Wheeler is a ps guy on a team with a decent RB room. Monangai is an unknown.
It’s unfortunate the draft didn’t fall their way regarding drafting one of the top RBs.
I don’t disagree at all and the Bears will have to improve that group in 2026. However look at what BJ worked with in 2022 where he still had a lot of success. Swift has been better since 2022 and the combination of Johnson, Monangai/whoever realistically isn’t any worse then Jamaal Williams. If Johnson really wanted one of the top RBs, Poles could have made it happen.Reading through this thread just shows how bad the Bears RB room is. Swift is a solid change of pace back. With this line I hope Swift exceeds the 1300 + combined yards he had last year to go along with the 5.5 ypc he had under Johnson in 2022.One thing the nfl has proven over the years is you can march out some random guy no one has ever heard of and he can become a good RB if you have a great oline.
Look at Jordan Howard, the guy @DanielCCSBears said was the best back we've had since walter(Another idiot take). Howard was a direct product of having a very good interior, that when healthy may have been the best in the NFL(Sitton,Long,Whitehair).
I fully expect swift to have a pro bowl level year behind this OL.
