Hawks seem to play down to the Oilers level when they could destroy them if they put in some effort. All I've seen is lazy and sloppy play. Stinking at the dots as well and the special teams have been pure shit. Had their PP/PK been worth a damn they could have won this game. Congrats to Hayes for netting his first NHL goal though.



What a useless effort again to start the new year. Hopefully it's not a sign of what is to come.

Rosh you expressed my thoughts to a tee. It is VERY rare that I give up on a game. This one I did. I quit watching after the Eager goal. I couldn't stand to watch such a trashy effort. They all looked like they were playing alone out there; no teamwork at all. It was clown shoes for 60 minutes.

I've noticed the hawks always play very mediocre after several days off, like they are a team that's gets out of sync very fast.

Im not sure if i agree about no effort last night. I think it was for the most part. Lots of mistakes though which cost the team. So i can see how laziness could be implanted in there. They nearly tied up the game.



The powerplay was dog bad. It wasnt a lazy pp it was just once again trying too much fancy stuff.



Craw was not good. Its not lack of effort it was overplaying pucks and being off angles. After the carcillo penalty he looked like panic mode hit..was scary..not something you want to see in your goalie.



Hammer was horrible on the pk also. Yah he got highsticked before a goal against. But the way he reacted to it was brutal. He also made a very bad clear on the first goal againt on that carcillo penalty.



Wasnt lack of effort. It was a night of brain farts. It happens.



Now we have to get kane off center again. Its not working and brunette once again has to get off the top lines. Q is resorting back to lines that never worked. He too can take some heat for last night.
