Bickell to the minors makes room for Hayes, pretty damn easily.

I'd at least try and work out a trade before you send him on waivers with a very good contract so you get NOTHING in return. Wouldn't be out there more than a few hours IMO.

**** that, send him anyway. Who cares he's cheap. Mean to tell me we don't have cheap talent down there?

Put Bolland with some real players and maybe he starts to look better.

Okay so we need Ladd and Havlat back, and for them to take a massive pay cut.

Lets be honest, if anything Bolland has gotten the short end of the stick the last few seasons (as well as Kane getting mixed around, but at least he keeps playing with good players)

From Ladd/Havlat/Versteeg to Bickell/Frolik/Pisani/Brouwer

It's no secret why his production has tailed off.. give him some players to work with and he'll be a threat. I've been an advocate of Bolland on the 2nd line since the beginning of the year, I think he needs to get his shot and when Kruger gets back, it would be the best time to do it.

Sharp/Toews/Kane

Stalberg/Bolland/Hossa

Sharp and Stalberg can easily be interchangeable, maybe even changing Kane/Hossa from time to time.

after investing how many years they had better get something in return, verses letting someone take him on waivers for NOTHING!!

I believe Bickell is waiver-eligible.

I think Bickell's death-knell may be Hayes. If Hayes keeps up at least 75% of what he has shown in his first two games he makes Bickell expendible, and with Car-bomb out, chances are he's up with the club until Carbomb is back, someone is moved to make room, or he tails off considerably.

Bickell will have to bring it game-in-game out, since it's likley Hayes will. If Bickell doesn't, he's likley going to be a bargaining chip at TDL time or sent away for a depth pick if Hays proves he can play Bickell's game better than Bickell himself.

How about you play GM and think what you can package him with for maybe a need the Hawks have that's not available in Rockford.

Need I remind you Bochenksi got us Versteeg. Ellison got us Sharp.

Or just give him away on waivers or assume he's only worth a draft pick.

honestly I think a lot of team would jump and something like Bickell packaged with a Morin, Smith ect ect...... Usually teams ready to deal now are working on the future. Bickell is still pretty young and you add a very good prospect, all of a sudden you have trade options.

So giving him away for nothing, yea dumb.

No thanks on Havlat... he hurt himself jumping over the boards on a line change. Out another 8 weeks.

Id take Ladd back in a heartbeat.

I think it will take Bickell+ a sweetener to get the team what it would need--which means either a mid-tier roster player or a good prospect.

If Bickell doesn't pick it up soon, next 5 to 10 games, we should package him with a prospect and see what we can get. (The better the player we're offered would determine which prospect is offered) Another team may be willing to take a chance on Bickell (17 goals, 20 assists last year) hoping that a change of scenery might be what he needs to get back on track.

Bolland's history even with Ladd, Havlat, Versteeg...is invisible for 20-25gms....hurt for 20games...productive for 40.

I'm not a Bickell fan either, but simply sitting him or letting him go via waivers would be foolish. He scored 17goals as a rookie last year. Frolik has been a bust. After scoring 42g in his first 161gms...to 16g in his next 117gms (with probabaly 1/4 of them being empty netters)...to doing nothing.

I think all 3 of those players have been a disaster. Frolik, in year 1 of his new contract is probably unmovable. Bickell plus a prospect could probably get a decent player....and Bolland plus prospects could probably land a top 6 forward.

I think the idea the Hawks are going to go with isn't trading from the current core...but more with prospects/picks. The only 2 from the club that may move....Lepisto (waived, traded for a late pick to a team with injuries), or Bickell as some have said. He does have value/upside. I also think Morin, Smith, Lalonde will be the prospects moved.
