As many people have pointed out, Derrick rose might not be a superstar. However if you look at the nba, you dont get that feeling. The NBA is marketing the crap out of rose. They just made a tnt Add for rose.

if you've seen the league passbroadband ads, rose is on there with howard, lebron, kobe, wade etc. You dont see durant, mayo or anybody else getting such exposure.

regardless of whether he deserves it or not, i'm excited to see a chicago bull on the national spotlight.

I haven't seen the Rose one played during League Pass games yet. I've only seen the Gilbert Arenas and Dwight Howard ones played in rotation.
