At least there's something to look forward to this year while we struggle. I wouldn't rush Davidson however. If he's ready so be it. Maybe they try to unload Viciedo or De Aza for a catcher. I want a really nice young catcher. We have the number 3 pick to use on a starting pitcher also

I don't want Sale moved but it would be intriguing to see what it would take to get him. It would have to be a crazy stupid offer.

Interesting article.

I like this paragraph

"Oh, he's not done, either.

He'd love to find a team to take on 34-year-old Adam Dunn, who has hit 75 home runs and driven in 182 runs the last two seasons. Hahn also has a middle infielder to trade -- if the Yankees ever get around to understanding what a valuable piece Alexei Ramirez could be on a team with long-term questions at second base and shortstop. He's got an extra outfielder to trade -- he'd love to get a young catcher for Alejandro De Aza or Dayan Viciedo -- and has a surplus of middle-infield prospects driving discussions, with elbow surgery the only thing slowing Micah Johnson (a Minors-best 84 stolen bases last season)."

Dunn hopefully has a good or somewhat good year so we can ship him for something at the deadline. If we could move De Aza for a catcher that'd be fucking fantastic.

It's time to start looking at the draft prospects for Junes draft.

I'd be good going into the year with OF Viciedo, Eaton, Garcia. IF Davidson, Ramirez, Beckham, Abreu and finding a good young catcher.

The pitching staff clearly is a work in progress. Clear Dunn off the books and say **** it and sign Kershaw lol. I have plenty of faith in us developing more pitching. Get me a nice young catcher and I'm good. I like Phegley as a backup who is still only 25. So maybe he turns out alright. I've been waiting for a good move at catcher all off-season.

catching slightly over sp. rhp preferred. if u can insert a rhp into a rotation now with sale, quintana, danks they will be fine. the top 3 are good enough to get it done but are leftys. a nice rh power arm to break it up would be sweet but the catcher is huge right now.

Agreed. Go get a catcher first and for most. They still have Rienzo, and Johnson in the rotation.

I think with the improvements we have made offensively and defensively we now can have a position that offers little ont he offensive side of the ball. If Flowers truly was hurt all last year he should probably be a .225-235 15-20 homer guy. It's a hole for sure, but not so bad right now with the improved lineup.

Now pitching. Yikes. We traded away arguably our second best pitcher in Santiago. I love Q, but his numbers scare me too. We are hoping Danks recovers and place a ton on Johnson and Rienzo which realistically for me we didn't get 300 innings out of this year.

That's why SP must be the #1 priority.

if you move anyone you want to move viciedo. de aza is more athletic, better obp,has pop and would be a corner guy. keep him around

Oh, I agree De Aza is very useful to us, but the addition of Eaton makes him expendable. Viciedo will probably have more trade value with a good half-season under his belt. Not sure we get much for moving him now.

Eh, Quintana was pretty consistent. Should've won at least 15 games, imo.

if they are close to contention you can trade for a pitcher. hell we can sign a guy like burnett or a 4th RHP and I would be ok if we had a catcher. What I like about these deals is that these guys are all locked up for a while and they are young so if these guys play well we can spend some dough on a player to get us over the top.

if they get a guy like weiters than the team could compete for atleast a wild card imo. your only hr threat is Dunn, you don't move him unless you are out of it.

Santiago has electric stuff but control problems. I'll take Quintana.
