Say what you want about Antrelle Rolle and how he's been a big disappointment, but there's been no better player for Amos to learn from than Rolle. Rolle has made it clear in his numerous radio appearances that he knows he's not personally up to standard, but he has worked to contribute by being a leader in the young secondary. I think Amos' development is a result of that and I'm glad that Amos has proven to be a steal to this point and I hope he continues to be a good player for us.

Good post but....

Very true.

And this goes back to my point I made before that it is important to have SOME veteran leadership on each side of the ball. Some people here think that it is better if literally everyone on the team is 25 and younger.

GTFO, if that were the case then Jerry Angelo would still be here.

You cannot wiff on all you high picks in addition.

The Legion of Boom was built on 5th and 6th round guys. That is like stealing value.

Yeah, and finding diamonds in the rough is a 4 year perk. Once they are known quantities they no longer are values. They become well paid commodities like any other star player. So unless you plan on hitting on a shitload of late picks several years in a row you're still not going anywhere.

Oddly, this is why i see Rolle talking with the opposition. He and they know his days are numbered and are giving him props for being the old dog still hanging around.

But he's not and nor are any of his draft picks, late or early.

That's the role I envisioned Peanut to have if he stayed with the Bears. You can tell he had a positive affect last year even when he wasn't playing, as evidenced by Fuller's Peanut Punch imitation he pulled a few times last year.

"Understand that he’s now being mentioned in the same breath as Charles Woodson and Kam Chancellor."

Wut? By whom? Don't get me wrong, the kid has looked good, but what the **** is this dude talking about? Where has Amos been mentioned next to those two other than in this article?

Do the sentences start with "He's a decent safety, but he's no...."

Ranked among best? He's 18th of 32 on that list. And besides, I thought everyone felt pff sucks?

I do like what I have seen and not heard so far.

I love Amos, but the author of that article is kinda whacked out. He's relying on a list that ranks him #18 of 32 and calling him one of the best, and also says he's being mentioned in the same breath as Charles Woodson and Kam Chancellor. Huh?

Now why do we have to go and ruin a great story with facts? What fun is that? When the party is rolling, let it roll....maybe even add to it little bit.

ranked 18th out of 32 is good for a rookie but not ranked among the best.

Being the 18th ranked safety is a lot different than being the 18th ranked QB. Future looks bright and not just a depth/ST pick.

NE has 3 in the top 15 currently.

Keep in mind that list is for FS's and SS's. Can't wait to see you what this guy becomes.

What's so encouraging is how steady he is and how ecru game seems to be getting better and more comfortable, he isn't on some crazy int streak he's just been incredibly solid, and with his athletic ability he has the potential to become a very good safety.

yeah how many awful 5th round safeties did this team draft when Angelo was around. actually, were they 5ths? I think Wright was a 2 and Conte was a 3, there were a lot of other scrubs in the mix too though in years before I think.

Try 3rd round. I think most went there.

I do like what I have seen and not heard so far.

2 starting safeties per team. That right there is already 64. Not including all the other safeties that come in for other snaps.

18th out of 64 is damn good for a rookie whether 1st round pick or 5th.
