After playing a horrible game... D. Rose says...

The reporter asked "How would you describe your game tonight?"

Rose replies "I had fun. It wasn't the way I wanted the end to be."

I don't know how any competitive athlete that just went 5-20 on the night, 0-7 from 3, and scored 13 points in a playoff game, can say he "had fun".

Winning is fun. Losing and playing like you belong in the D league should never be fun. Ever.

This guy has completely lost his competitive drive. His killer instinct. His desire to win. He's just out here to "have fun" and collect his millions.

why do we even care what Rose says in the media anymore?

the guy just doesn't know what to say ever and it doesn't seem his people are coaching him on what to say

add this to the "rose says dumb shit" book

I think he said this after Game 1.

I don't think he said this last night.

He did. It was defintely a weird comment, more apt to call it stupid. Which is nothing new. Next thread we start should say "Thibs plays his starters for heavy minutes during the regular season."

He may just have fun playing basketball:troll: losing isn't fun but with how much time he's missed I'm sure he feels good just being out there. You're supposed to have fun when you play...if you don't then what's the point

Rose speaks his mind. It's a game at the end of the day so why not have fun. Obviously he didn't want to lose, who does, besides fans who beg their teams to tank for draft picks.. If you think he doesn't really care he would have stopped playing a long time ago. Stop complaining because he doesn't pander to the public. I'm glad he doesn't.

I was just about to post when I read Rasko's post... and I couldn't agree more. The poor kid has been riding a bench for years... If he's finally getting a chance to have some fun with his job, then so be it. He needs the playing time. He just needs to get a bit better (with each game) and we can move on.

His response should have been "I had a bad game". "We blew it." "I have to be better." Anything else.... Responding with "I had fun" makes it seem like you don't give a **** if you play like a total shitstain and lose a playoff game.

A little give a **** is appropriate here. A little anger in how horrible you were, and how you lost a home playoff game, is appropriate....

I don't think I have ever heard that response, in any sport, at any level, after a loss in the playoffs. Even if the player in question had a career night, and they lost....

Most winners hate losing more than they enjoy winning. That certainly doesn't seem to be the case with Rose. He seems to me to have lost his drive to be the best, and his desire to win. When your "superstar" is content just to be playing....that's a problem. His attitude shows in his game.

ppl read into media comments too much.

No denying the fact that Rose and the bulls came out sluggish and looked like they were playing a regular season game. Urgency was not there, but i bet it'll be there tonight.

Game 6, bulls win this mother fucking game by double digits. **** the Bucks. Any Bulls fans here going to the game tonight want to make that a chant when Bucks fans say "Let's go Bucks" bulls fans chant after "**** the Bucks"

Does he have fun with the money he "earns" from a max contract? I think having a contractual obligation to a) play and b) play well provides enough of a need for him to endure it not being fun.

I like how people say things like this as though he's playing for free.

He's not paid to have fun. He's paid to deliver.

You're quite a leaper to some crazy outrage.

So more of that, I want guys to speak the typical company line dribble to then complain about them just repeating the same unoriginal thoughts trend.

Holy crap. He had 2.5 bad games this series-coming off of a knee scope-against one of the best defensive teams in the NBA. For the most part, I liked what I saw out of him.

The team finished this series with a great rhythm. It probably will help them against CLE, that the Bucks made a real fight of things. They prepared the Bulls more for a physical battle than Boston did for the Cavs.

Kyrie has not felt real playoff pressure yet. And we all know Rose hits an extra gear when he faces a star guard.

I'll say this-the Cavs do not have the ability to play defense at near the level of Milwaukee.

It should be fun, especially since the Cavs are short some weapons.

LOL @ this whole thread

AAAAAAAHH D Rose didn't say what I wanted him to say again!!!
:kermit::kermit::kermit::kermit:

It has got to be exhausting to care this much about what Rose says. Do his responses keep you lying awake at night? The guy hasn't played playoff basketball in 3 damned years, so of course he's having fun just being on the court. Is that really that troubling?

Today, he talked about how he didn't care about facing Lebron again:
"It could have been anybody," Rose said. "It could have been my mom, I would have been happy. I'm just happy to be playing again and happy to be on the court."

To me, he sounds relaxed, focused and excited about playing the game again, especially in the post season. That's what you all should want. It has shown in his play on the court so far. He's been aggressive on both ends. He's been vocal. He's been coaching players on the court. He's been riding a damn bike all playoffs instead of sitting on the bench. I think the dude is a lot more into the game than you guys are willing to give him credit for, simply due to the fact he doesn't say the same recycled crap that all athletes say in the media.
