CHICAGO -- The Chicago Bulls have expressed an interest in free agent guard Eddie House, according to House's agent Mark Bartelstein.
The Bulls are one of several teams pursuing the veteran guard, who would be able to play both backcourt positions and give the Bulls more depth behind Derrick Rose and new acquisition C.J. Watson, whom they acquired from the Golden State Warriors in a sign-and-trade last week. House, 32, spent the past three seasons with the Boston Celtics before being dealt at last year's trade deadline to the New York Knicks for Nate Robinson.
House is a career 39 percent shooter from behind the arc and would add another veteran presence in the locker room alongside 15-year veteran big man Kurt Thomas whom the Bulls officially signed on Monday. House, who averaged seven points last season, is considering re-signing with the Celtics, among others.
The Bulls only have 11 players under contract and are looking to fill the final spot on the active roster with a guard after addressing their front-court needs with the Thomas signing. Former All-Star Tracy McGrady was at the Berto Center on Monday afternoon working out for Bulls personnel, but sources tell ESPN's Marc Stein and Chris Broussard that the team is unlikely to sign the veteran because, among other things, he may be hesitant to accept a complimentary role within the framework of the team.
