^^^ I wouldn't trade most of those Blackhawks' players for Luongo. If the Blackhawks were to trade for Luongo there would have to be a Crawford, Frolik, Olesz, etc in there because that would be mostly a salary dump and Luongo comes with a hefty cap hit. I wouldn't mind Luongo on the Blackhawks as he is a real solid goaltender and could thrive with an old rival, but I wouldn't overpay for that contract when the Canucks seem to want him gone.

Now, the players that listed could definitely be in play if the Canucks were to trade Schneider...which I don't see happening after Luongo supposedly requested a trade and the Canucks look like they will be following through on that request.

Most of those guys listed I think have expiring contracts soon. Supposedly those are the teams interested in Luongo

I agree that the Blackhawks probably have some interest in Luongo, atleast a call to kick the tires.

Stalberg's contract is up after this next year and is the only one the Blackhawks have to worry about. The other 4 players mentioned all will have RFA status when their current contracts are up.

I would certainly think about it. Adding Saad and a 1st in there makes it tougher.

Crawford and Frolik would soften the blow of Luongo's contract in a big way. I'm a big fan of trading draft picks for proven talent (usually works with a rebuilding team or a team in the Canucks position with Luongo) but adding Saad in there is a lot on top of it all.

In the end I would probably close my eyes and go for it. I think the hate around here for Luongo and the Canucks blinds a lot of people at how good of a goaltender Luongo really is.

Im thinking with saad that we have so many talented forwards and a young core which makes up alot of our top 6 (where saad is projected)

I wouldn't send Saad and a 1st. We should send Beach, because when they play the Hawks we could use those stupid penalties :troll:

Im wondering if beach will make the 4th line in chicago this year?

Luongo.

Heh, havent we been down this road before? Bullin, Huet, Emery....aging goalies that are just past their prime. Granted, he's probably more talented skillwise but between the ears this guy's a train wreck. The Hawks need a goalie....just NOT this one.

I'm wondering if Beach is ever going to be ANYTHING. He's the most disappointing thing the organization has seen in a while. I had HIGH hopes for him. Signing Olesz and paying Huet like he's Broduer sucked as well but the Beach thing really stings. I thought he was the next big deal.

Back on topic, I wouldn't trade a ham sandwich for Luongo. He's a scatter-brained, crybaby, prick and I wouldn't take him for free if they threw in Kessler, Hamhuis, and a limo full of strippers.

Well maybe if they threw in the strippers.

anyone who wouldnt take luongo on the hawks has some serious issues.

I will drop off the trade to the airport and wait with a sign saying "luongo" all day long.
